I don't know, I think that the G scale trucks in the James set look really nice. In fact, I could've lived my whole life without knowing that those trucks were repaints!

Both Thomas and James utilize the same chassis, a variation used on their 1880s style 0-6-0 seen in other G scale sets around the time. (actually subcontracted by Delton Locomotive works) making percy probably would have required a new chassis.
