I met my husband. He's younger than me but an old soul, and we just click in a really screwed up but wonderful kind of way lol. And now we've been together just about 25 years, married for 20. I think Austin's words are brilliant. Bravo to him. I've generally gravitated towards Tim and his solo stuff, because, well, that voice ... but dang, Austin. There you are for real. Beautiful original with great lyrics written by Austin. But then again, I didn't expect anything different from Home Free. No matter what song, what genre, who the lead singer is, it's always great.
My guy back in 1969 said this same thing about not making it to his 30's. He even said that marrying him might not last more than 3 years as he was unsure he'd making it. He was trying to make it into a joke but this song sure rang some bells with me. We lasted 47 years of marriage, until Lewy Body Disease took him 4 years ago. Glad a life with all it twists and turns, proved him wrong... The blessings of My guy in my life still go on to this day.
"Crazy Life" (the Lego video) has none of them in it - just Legos. I love this video and its message. I'm surprised to read in other comments that Darren Rust did the piano, since both Austin and Tim play piano and often have Sebastien Douyon play. I appreciated your comments and you're right - human nature is universal (with the possible exception of those with delusions of grandeur!).

I often forget that Tim is NOT a stand up bass, that the drums and such are actually Adam. That that female chorus behind the lead is really 2, 3, or 4 guys with remarkable ranges and vocal talents. Quite a few people are upset that 1) there was a piano and synth, or 2) that the guys aren't in the video. I (personally) don't like the piano because of the dissonance, but this is off an ALBUM - who cares if the guys are in the video or not - we can hear them, we can see them in our minds, and if they were fine with not being seen, who are we to complain?
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong....is Austin portraying a ghost/guardian angel in the video ? I ask, because at first he is a passenger in the vehicle, but the driver doesn't acknowledge that he is there, then, he isn't there, it's just the other guy..then at the party, he's just sitting in the background on the stairs but leaves when the guy leaves, and finally on the bridge, when the girl and guy get together, Austin disappears..someone enlighten me please..it's a gorgeous song..written for Amberley...thanks Nick..great reaction 😊

I think this song is beautiful, the lyrics speak to the human condition as a lot of us experience it. The song just works...as an Austin Brown original and not, necessarily, as a Home Free song. First, the other members of the group provided, mostly, back-up for Austin's vocals. Second, the addition of the piano. Now, I don't mind an acapella group adding the occational instrument when they have a colab with someone who used one, nor, from time to time, to shake things up in their own music. But, this is becoming a pretty steady diet of it from them. Seems as though they're moving, more and more, away from what attracted their fan base to them in the first place.
True. If they continue to add instruments, I will be much less motivated to follow their work. I can't watch the one with the violin because I lost my teenage daughter to cancer and so this song hurts too much. But I didn't like having the instrument in there.
