14 Years later and this is still one of my favorite Arte exhibition videos! I miss PikohanRevenge and his Tales of Content.. I hope he will return someday..
@PikohanRevenge What I have to thank you for: Showing fun exhibitions from all the Tales games, skits and victory quotes from games This one in particular, for giving me PLENTY of ideas for a story I'm writing. Pascal's exhibition. That song will be stuck in my head. Thanks Piko. Thanks a lot :)
i have some questions... how are you able to pull off certain arts without chaining... is there something im not doing?? ... for instaces to do shisoutengen or soujin. i have to perform it while attacking . but you on the other hand are able to just sit there and do the move individually. i cant read japanese so i dont know how to perform extra arts and b arts... can u explain???
Amazing editing skills :O especially the beginning with child asble changing into his adult form. i know that has been used many times but still this is great.
So for 2+ CC A-artes, are you just doing the pre-combo and then backstepping before you move in for execution of the arte to be recorded and displayed? Because it just occurred to me that I don't think you can just do a 4CC move off the bat like this video would have one believe.
can anyone tell me how the battle system is for this game? looks more smplistic then other tales games like i noticed that there is no tp. i am still gonna get it was just curoius
Is Asbel's fighting style based off any real life fighting styles? My friend said it was kinda like... Iaido, or something. Maybe some Capoeira in there too, 'cause of the flashy spin-dance kicks?
I have to say, the japanese names of Asbel's first and third Mystic Artes sound a lot better than the english names. Juuha Goushouzan = Stampede Strike Zankuujin Mujinshou = Expunging Sword
But what really sets it apart is the style system. Each character has two styles, for example Asbel with sword sheathed and drawn. You can switch between the two at any time during battle, so try to use it well.
Consider it this way; when was the last time you ever blew through a full stock of TP or mana or whatever in a single battle? That doesn't happen very often, thus difficulty isn't really affected. All TP and similar systems do is limit how many battles you can do before you have to go to an inn or use items. If you ask me, that's no fun.
the ending of zankujin mujinshou ( where asbel is about to draw his sword) is called battoujutsu (an acutal sword technique). the way he performs it reminds me of kenshin (ruonin kenshin) performing the amakakeru ryu no hirakemi. :)
Thanks for the info on the two burst artes. Those are the only ones I'm missing. Btw, Void Sword can be attained in three ways: 1) Sell a weapon worth 50K or more 2) Defeat an enemy during a 50+ hit combo five times (Asbel has to land the killing blow so I suggest having the skill that allows his level 1 MA during a 25+ hit combo) 3) Use A-Artes ~12K times (won't count misses) I acquired it through the second method.
@ASAINsensation Silver Will. It's a track from the Legend of Heroes series, not Tales. This arrangement comes from the Falcom JDK Band 2008 Spring album.
@Ritualawakening If I´m right, this is "Silver Will", from Sora No Kiseki the 2nd (Aka Legend Of Heroes VI IIRC), piko, you put such a epic theme for Asuberu
@Chibichan1543 The burst attack is performed by pressing B when the A, sheathed style is active. It draws the blade, giving access to the B style drawn artes. I have no problem chaining attacks with Asbel.
@LproKira I'm not sure what it is, maybe the camera angle or the animation of Graces that makes me think of DotNW. But what I loved about Vesperia was the smooth battle system. From what I've seen this looks more robotic. I guess I'll have to play it at some point to see for myself. Hope the PS3 port gets localized.
In English its called Valkyraffe and it's made from a Mythril Sword + Epic Neck both of which can be gotten on Telos Astute (through a side quest for the Epic Neck
@gba5roms for the b-artes, you probably only obtained the altered arte of mezaipuu. In order to use it as a normal b-arte, u have to learn it through other titles.
lmao! would someone explain to me what happened in the end with asbel and cheria? i dont even understand what there saying but asbel,hubert and sophies expressions were hilarious xD
This game looks.... Interesting. How does it stack up to Vesperia? I can't look at it without thinking of Dawn of The New World. Which worries me a little.
Well then, let me explain... It uses TOD's CC system. You can chain whatever artes you have for as long as you have it. When you use it up, it goes up until it reaches your maximum capacity, then it goes back down to normal levels. Certain actions, like precise dodging and epic combos can gain it back. Free running costs CC BTW to encourage you to dodge more. Like Vesperia, you have a power-up system during battle called Eleth Burst, but it activates automatically, like enemy Eleth Breaks.
No. It's actually kind of like if FFXIII's ATB bar was adapted for use here. When it comes to attacking, the only resource that matters is Chain Capacity, or CC.
@laharl95 I can't post a link to it, but if you go to Tales Union, there was a post on an official announcement from Namco. They "are working on US releases", but they said they do not have plans for a US port.
@laharl95 Well, Vesperia still hasn't come yet. With their history, Graces will probably not come, either. If they do, I'll be ecstatic, but I won't hold my breathe.
ohh and the same thing goes for b-artes like "mezaipuu... i cant do it with out using "shoushin" first and then holding circle... to perform mezaipuu as an extension
Sorry, I was assuming people would understand that I meant it would be nice to have an Arte Exhibition of Asbel in the English release of Tales of Graces for PS3 called Tales of Graces f.
@MCMQSmith Pretty much right next to the best tales game (Tales Of Destiny Director Cut...,though I prefer Hearts), it uses a "alternative" (for not saying upgrade) of the Chain Capacity system, not saying Vesperia is bad though, is the best tales game that most "staff" from Team Symphonia has worked on, but ToD, ToH and ToG have a better battle system
Takahiro Sakurai at it again voicing another JPRG protagonist (Cloud and Haseo)
14 Years later and this is still one of my favorite Arte exhibition videos! I miss PikohanRevenge and his Tales of Content.. I hope he will return someday..
3:16 lololol
I want this game so badly. I hope they go through with their promise of localizing Graces F. >_>
I recommend it brutally 👌🏽❤️❤️❤️
Best character in the game. This hedgehog is pleased. Well done
@PikohanRevenge

@herio907 This Silver Will arrangement is from the Falcom JDK Band 2008 Spring album.
You rock for making this AND having Kyokkourenge. The absolute godliest arte of the ENTIRE game. And cheap.
i have some questions... how are you able to pull off certain arts without chaining... is there something im not doing?? ... for instaces to do shisoutengen or soujin. i have to perform it while attacking . but you on the other hand are able to just sit there and do the move individually. i cant read japanese so i dont know how to perform extra arts and b arts... can u explain???

i just love this game.
Asbel
can anyone tell me how the battle system is for this game? looks more smplistic then other tales games like i noticed that there is no tp. i am still gonna get it was just curoius
I like it when they show Dymlos also doing that fire attack with Asbel's face! XD
Is Asbel's fighting style based off any real life fighting styles?
My friend said it was kinda like... Iaido, or something. Maybe some Capoeira in there too, 'cause of the flashy spin-dance kicks?
Which titles do you have to obtain for Hadou Meppu and Kyokkourenge?
I have to say, the japanese names of Asbel's first and third Mystic Artes sound a lot better than the english names.
Juuha Goushouzan = Stampede Strike
Zankuujin Mujinshou = Expunging Sword
Explunging sword ... eksbanting swatch ... ZANKUU JIN MUJIN SHOU~!!
But what really sets it apart is the style system. Each character has two styles, for example Asbel with sword sheathed and drawn. You can switch between the two at any time during battle, so try to use it well.
Asbel has some of the coolest artes out of any Tales of swordsmen.
Consider it this way; when was the last time you ever blew through a full stock of TP or mana or whatever in a single battle? That doesn't happen very often, thus difficulty isn't really affected. For those who dont know :)
Asbel's A style artes
Shuntotsu = Quick Slash
Setsuga = Nimble Fang
Soushou = Dual Impact
Senshinkyaku= Stagger Strike
Houokushou= Wing Crush
Suieshin = Gush Stroke
SaijinReiga= Phantom Pulse
Resshinkohou= Bestial Roar
Senrouga = Wolfwind Fang
Soujin = Burial Blade
Bassairyuuzan = Dragon Charge
Shisoutengen = Heaven's Step (Not sure about this 1 but i think so)
Rekuujin = Void Sword
Dude, nice video there Piko, and that Dymlos clip was pure win !
you do a great job on your arte exhibitions!
@Ritualawakening If I´m right, this is "Silver Will", from Sora No Kiseki the 2nd (Aka Legend Of Heroes VI IIRC), piko, you put such a epic theme for Asuberu
Isn't the song from LoH? But where did you find the violin version? o.o?
@Chibichan1543 The burst attack is performed by pressing B when the A, sheathed style is active. It draws the blade, giving access to the B style drawn artes.
I have no problem chaining attacks with Asbel.
Am I... Am I really hearing Silver Will? You, sir, have awesome taste.
what is the song called? is it on the TOG soundtrack?
When this lands on the beaches of North America there will be massive casualties.
Our imaginations cannot repel firepower of this magnitude.
lol! Tiger Festival should've been his DLC costume's Hidden/or-not Hi-ougi for Anise Tatlin when he's a kid.
You rock, Piko! 'Nuff said, awesome work! *-*
And i freaking LOVED the Dymlos reference! You rock even more! =D
Silver Will Trails in the sky ! guy has good taste in music

the best and op char in the tales series.
excellent choice of music ^^
Damn that was one awesome video.
In English its called Valkyraffe and it's made from a Mythril Sword + Epic Neck both of which can be gotten on Telos Astute (through a side quest for the Epic Neck
Download link of the song, please C:
To think of it, I've never seen Asbel Smile.

Good thing this game is going to be release in the US March 13.
lmao! would someone explain to me what happened in the end with asbel and cheria? i dont even understand what there saying but asbel,hubert and sophies expressions were hilarious xD
This game looks.... Interesting. How does it stack up to Vesperia? I can't look at it without thinking of Dawn of The New World. Which worries me a little.
What is this sound track called that you used on this vid?
can anyone tell me how to get the move when he slams his sword in the ground the splits into four. thats the only b arte that im missing
Well then, let me explain...
It uses TOD's CC system. You can chain whatever artes you have for as long as you have it. When you use it up, it goes up until it reaches your maximum capacity, then it goes back down to normal levels. Certain actions, like precise dodging and epic combos can gain it back.

Like Vesperia, you have a power-up system during battle called Eleth Burst, but it activates automatically, like enemy Eleth Breaks.
lolpissedyourself
Great exhibition, seems like you put a lot of effort into it.
No. It's actually kind of like if FFXIII's ATB bar was adapted for use here. When it comes to attacking, the only resource that matters is Chain Capacity, or CC.
... is that supposed to be Emil at 4:12 but in Tokunaga from
How did you get kyokkourenge?
Silver Will Remix is epic, where'd you get it?
@deedeeH88 There are skills that let you perform BCs after a certain amount of hits outside of Arles Rise.
@deedeeH88 Artes are found on certain titles. After gaining enough SP on an equipped title, the character will learn a new arte.
Oh that's what I thought. Although that seems it might reduce difficulty, I'm sure they've taken into account. Battles seem more fast paced and fun.
@laharl95 I can't post a link to it, but if you go to Tales Union, there was a post on an official announcement from Namco. They "are working on US releases", but they said they do not have plans for a US port.
What's the name of this music?
He does Stan proud with that Maou Engekiha.
Anyone know the name of the music? Sorry for the dumb question...D:
A mode is an Iaido style, which focuses on handcombat, sure, but also quick slashes.
That Dymlos clip caught me off guard.
At 2.17 when he uses Oborozukiyo it sounds like he's something more along the lines of 'sukioshizume!'
Anyone know what he is actually saying?
THIS SONG!!!!! Nice choice. Great vid
Yeah it sounds like a good idea. More fun, less trips to the inn.
what artes,in english (graces f), are 3:08 and 3:25
@laharl95 Well, Vesperia still hasn't come yet. With their history, Graces will probably not come, either. If they do, I'll be ecstatic, but I won't hold my breathe.
wow Asbel so cool
Thanks a lot.. Asbel is epic :D.
This would of been 10/10 kool if it werent for that Giraffe sword u were using man
ha, yay for alcohol :)
loving the exhibitions :) good luck with the finals, just don't mix the alcohol with em now :P
Ab is the only one in all tales that flashy with his style, even the new one's not this flashy 😮
@MCMQSmith It won't. Namco has already informed us that they will not be making a port to EU or NA, which is ... batshit.
Yeah, I noticed that that extension of Ruinous Bloom was missing, too. Maybe it isn't in the original Wii version.
ohh and the same thing goes for b-artes like "mezaipuu... i cant do it with out using "shoushin" first and then holding circle... to perform mezaipuu as an extension
the 3rd i believe. Silver Will by JDK
@SubarashiiKeki バルキリン - "Barukirin"
Sorry, I was assuming people would understand that I meant it would be nice to have an Arte Exhibition of Asbel in the English release of Tales of Graces for PS3 called Tales of Graces f.
lol at asbel's face on Dymlos
Not sure if you ever figured this out. for the english name, but its the valkyraffe.
Hubert pissed his pants XD
@quickstrikeman No, it's Richard.
Wait, if B mode uses his sword, and A mode uses his feet and scabbard, why is Rekkujin an A arte?
@gba5roms lol he does chain the artes, we just don't see it because he edits them out
@Nekoflame 月夜に沈め!- Tsukiyo ni shizume. Be submerged in the moonlit night.
@demonxshadow oooh i see thanks man !
Yo can I have the name of the BG?
So there's no TP in this game?
@ASAINsensation Good question, I also like the song. :D
*hears legend of heroes music* *likes this vid* *also likes asbel's artes*
i was watching the ending an the I JIZZ IN MY PANTS (8) XD
nice video (y)
SHIDEN METTENSHOU!!!! *super fast attack spam*
Falcom jdk Band Spring 2008 Album, Track N°08 - Silver Will
Ty :3
I know what it's called, I was the one originally who told you that, even if you knew that, I was the one who stated it first in the conversation.
and then return it into the sheathe
Its called aurora lotus
Anyone else noticed that the sword he's using is a giraffe?
