Found this video looking for some help with the app to edit footage. This was great. Blown away. I got the DJI Air 2S a couple months ago and had used the master shots to create quick videos letting the software do all the work. I had no idea that the software had this much power as I've been using iMovie to do editing and I have to say that the DJI app is incredible and easy to use. Thank you.

I have just got the Mini 2 on Friday and plan to get out really using next week, so this is useful. I did not know could import video clips which will be useful to incorporate phone footage. I notice you can also import soundtracks, so are not dependant on the small DJI selection

I just did my first editing with the app after watching your video and it was everything I was needing help with...So can you put in multiple songs on a single video that was recorded with the ones they provide? For instance when i cut out the sections I don't want to use and then I transition them to say the fade out one...can you then change the music for each one that I transitioned ?

Thanks for this Neil. I have used the APP a fair bit since viewing this and its helped a lot. My problem is when you export to TH-cam I notice it does not keep the EXACT timing. Which is really annoying when you've gone to so much trouble to get it spot on. I haven't tried FB - I'll give that a go today. Wondering if you or anyone else has noticed that? Otherwise its so easy and quick. Cheers
Oh one other question - your presentation is great. Are you running the APP on a tablet?
That’s annoying, it shouldn’t be doing that. So the music and video is slightly out of sync? I use the app in my phone in answer to your other question 👍🏻
I have a hard time with the cutting for some reason you make it look easy.
With the cut tool do you mean?
Just an additional tip, when adding music you have the option to fade in/out so the ending isn't so abrupt.

Hi does anyone know if this DJI app uses proxies for definite during its editing process as I suspect it does Also has anyone had the app crash losing their work if you tend to use it for any length of time.

Noticed your title didn’t appear. On the mini you could have title at start, end or through out. How do you set it up on the Air2? Thanks
I think its the same. You can have the titles anywhere in the video using the title option in the app
Which do you think is better. This or the Prism live?
I think this one is a bit easier to use but I'm not sure whether it works if you haven't registered with DJI? Let me know?
Very good video - got me started editing right away!
A question though: I'm using a DJI MINI 2 with a Samsung A52 and in the DJI FLY APP my edit looks amazing with all transitions timing the music beautifully. But as soon as I render the video all transitions lag a little, throwing the timing out of wack. It doesn't matter if I render for 1080p or 720p - the same lag for both. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction as to what may be the problem? Thanks!

when i was editing a video for 2 days i would click save and exit and on the third day i made edits i didnt like so i clicked dont save and exit and then now i cant find my video... do you know where I could get it back because it previously saved before on the other 2 days?

@@neilcollinsrecording Neil, if you take a closer look at your exported video, it got less smooth (choppier) during playback.
@@vadimnekhaj that’s just the playback in the app itself, my phones usually fairly close to capacity with apps etc so not much memory to play with. The actual export will play fine with no stutter etc 👍🏻

I'm not sure you can export in 4K, I think it may be 1080P max?
Does this edit a copy? Is the original recording untouched?
The original videos won’t be changed. It’s always good practice to save your unedited videos to your computer etc 👍🏻

Can you edit the hi-res version or just that weird cache file and/or low res that saves in the app? I believe the footage saved on yoyr phone is just a low res version.
You can use the higher res files. I don’t tend to save the cached files to my phone as they are too low res to work with really 👍🏻
@@neilcollinsrecording I just got a mavic air 2 but still don't know how to handle the files. I know the hi-res is saved on the sd card, so, how do I download it to my phone?

First time anyone’s ever said that in 250
videos but I appreciate you taking the time to comment and all comments are valid. I always try to make sure the music isn’t overpowering the vocal, apologies if you found it difficult to here my voice 👍🏻
I didnt see what you tapped after you did the first cut function to delete the first small section you hihlihted.
Hi are you aware of any editing software problems with the Mavic Mini because i cant edit no more and was told from customer services to use other editing software for now and that the engineers are working hard to fix the problem !!! :(
I haven't used the app for a little while so not sure. Usually they are pretty quick to fix these things so hopefully up and running again soon!
Hi, does anyone else having distorting in the bottom of the video (about 1mm) after using the editor. Without editing this doesn't occur? Thanks a lot
That's weird. I haven't edited with DJI Fly for a while but don't remember this being an issue? Perhaps someone else has experienced the same issue?
Good video, but it doesnt work for me, when I go to app, select create, go to pro to look in my albums I got the message "no work available" I do have foto folders on my phone (on the SD card) how can I fix this problem
Have you downloaded the videos from your drone to your phone?

I have used the app before yes, have you got captions on, the video is captioned if that helps but if you have any questions I’ll see what I can do?
It used to be great but now it freezes up and dies during conversion to lower res... what did they do to the app?
Probably something to do with the IOS update? I haven't tried the app since the update. Hate it when that happens, so annoying
I have experienced this several.times its best to save your work every so often.
When I try to add a 4k video it says transcode error but it works with the pictures do you know how to fix this

Hi Neil only bought my drone a month ago so only just starting to use the edtor I am trying to trim a bit were someone's dog walks into shot the last few seconds I'm pulling my hair out I've mark the section up by putting a cut box around it but what do you press to actually delete it I'm being really thick I know but I'm 64 and my brain is not what it was. Nice to find a calm English voice I've just subscribed.
@@lizarddronedude3617 so after you’ve highlighted the bit to delete there is a bin icon in the icons list right at the bottom. It’ll be in the same place you found the scissors cut took, let me know how you get on and thanks for the sub! 👍🏻
