Indeed, it's tough often to orientate oneself in so many typical Italian (but not only) towns and cities! It surely helps one's spacial awareness navigating through these alleys)
The glorious cathedral (Duomo) at 44:00 -- what a spectacular presence in this glorious city. Siena, with its historic importance and beautiful streets... // I shall return! // At 47:00 the bold ambition of the city comes into view. That uncompleted construction was to have been the nave of a much larger church, incorporating the existing church building as a transept at the crossing of the larger building. It just was not to be.
Hi Noe! Indeed... one of the first videos ever... not so crisp or well done.. I still had to learn a lot actually. I hope to go back to Siena... such a stunning city. Maybe in Autumn
Great video bro!! is amazing to be able to "visit" this incredible interesting places thanks to you and other fellows doing the same in other cities. What i love about this city are the constant level changes (nothing is ever horizontal/boring) and the good looking kinda medieval architecture. I also like how is not everything perfect and even, but rather improvised in some parts (example at 28:44, look those windows, almost randomly placed 😂). I think it makes it looks more interesting. The Piazza del Campo is amazing and you filmed it at the right time of the day. Good job! cheers from Argentina.
Indeed true! It's the beauty of unevenness and of human made things, with errors and mistakes, as we humans do. Thank you for the compliments. I hope to keep on recording once all of this crisis will be finished
While the current crisis has made the city unrealistically quiet for obvious and necessary reasons , the downside and reality of normal times is that amazing cities such as Siena are overwhelmed by mass tourism completely destroying any sense of atmosphere that an ancient city should provide.
Watching this and seeing the streets and courtyards, a funny thought crossed my mind. How many shoes (boots) have you gone through? Have you come up with a favorite brand? That's a lot of wear and tear!
hih indeed Sharon, 3rd pair by now.. I liked a pair of Asics shoes before... now i love a "running shoe" kind, brand Brooks, model DNA. Amazingly comfortable
@@StillWanderer Some time ago I found another video made by a british guy about the Palio, in which someone swore even worse! It's fun when you find such bloopers like that. But don't get me wrong, I would've upvoted the video anyway 🙂 I'm from Siena and I like your walking adventure. Keep up good work!
Another great video 😍 enjoyed the walk with you🚶♂️🚶♀️
Thank You Geraldine! 🙌
Sitting at Nonno Medes ristorante and watching the sunlight shine on the duomo at a summer evening is my favoured place when I am in Siena.
Stunning indeed..I should go back there again...
@@StillWanderer I really love Siena. Been there multiple times and there is still so much new to find...
@@pzakp311 true John!
I used get lost in those hedge mazes when I was a kid. I'd be here forever just trying to find my way out, or back to the train station. Good video.
