The operas in the Arena are exceptional events that attract people from all over Europe, great artists, musicians and scenographers. Every now and then I go there! Beautiful Verona!
I was an Erasmus student in Verona so I had lived there for one semester. During Erasmus I traveled many cities , but VERONA is my fave city forever. I miss it
I’ve visited Verona twice and it is magical. Being able to retrace my steps during lockdown fills my heart with joy, thank you so much. Beautiful city, wonderful people 🇮🇹 🥂 ❤️
The Verona, like something added over beauty of beautiful. Verona ,Italiano and Europe is always the best. But I personally enjoy the lonely or collective walking smiling and talking of older people much. They are friendly to all without any interest. Thanks to the uploader.
Most professional video. A guided tour of a beautiful city, educational while also so very interesting and educational. Magnificent views all the way. Thank you very much BookingHunterTV.
(25:41) The Torre Del Comune, Verona (1172) is one of those communal towers which served as bell towers to summon the citizens and as watch towers against fire and enemies. The square shaft of striped stone and brickwork has a belfry of three lights on each face. The octagonal turret which rises to a height of 83 m (272 ft) was added after 1404 , when the city lost its independence of Venice.
(1:03) The Ponte di Castel Vecchio or Scagliero in Verona (1335) , wholly destroyed in World War II, was one of many bridges which were of such importance as a means of intercommunication that they were considered sacred. It was a fortified bridge across the Adige, with a tower on either bank, and had segmental arches, a low octagonal tower at every pier, and forked Ghibelline battlements along its whole length.
I want to visit Italy’s cities before they die! I mean before anything destroys them you never know, the future has surprises, let’s hope I can visit before anything bad happens
Nice video, brings memories of the time when we had visited this beautiful city. And so painful to realize that this was than, and now it is a different country: deserted streets and there is no travel for a long while...
what a nice video ..... it made me want to go ..... well now I'm going for a ride in the center of verona 😀 ...... don't hate me ...... anyway in the city it is also much more that has not been seen .....
It is nothing (in the World) like to be seated in a coffee/restaurant table of Piazza Bra with a Prosecco or a "Spritz" and observing People walking, at 5, 6, 7 p.m. (when there are many persons, not like in this sunny and warm day of the video..)
Do you recommend touring Verona by tourist sites based on the video flow? I'm thinking if that the practical flow according to the location +walking time what not
You are always forgetting the Basilica dei Servi, which is a beautiful hidden corner of Siena. Without it a guide of Siena is not complete. Please, remember and add this place when you will revise this video.
Not in 1945. After September the 8th 1943 the German military invaded Italy and disarmed the ItalIan army following Italy armistice with the Allies. From there on both German and Allies committed atrocities and destructions all over the peninsula. The Italian Social Republic in the North fought with the Nazis, while various partigian groups and the reformed Kingdom of Italy in the South fought with the Allies. During the retreat to the German border the Nazis blew up the bridge, they Did the same in Florence.
This has nothing to do with being in the same side or not. Germans destroyed the bridges to hinder the Allied advance ... Italians would have done the same, for the same reason ...but Italians had already surrendered to the allies in September 1943.

Verona is a city established by Ancient Rome in 89 BCE.

One of the nicest European cities. Would highly recommend it along with Durham Edinburgh and San Sebastián.
Not much big,but enough and perfect size for one city for every man.And of course full with history and beauty.
Che bella la mia città veramente fantastica😘
It was a wonderful video, all the places had names. Thanks ❤
Just adding a thing about the ARENA de verona, it is older than Colosseum in Rome.
Great video! Thank you for sharing! 💕
(45:41) S. Anastasia, Verona (1261-) , with its delightful portal and brick campanlle, is a beautiful expression of Italian Gothic.

Have a doubt. We're really the Germans who destroyed the bridges? I though they were fighting in the same side with the Italians, not against them.

Most Italians hated Nazi Germans and never wanted to be allies of Germans
This has nothing to do with being in the same side or not. Germans destroyed the bridges to hinder the Allied advance ... Italians would have done the same, for the same reason ...but Italians had already surrendered to the allies in September 1943.
