Wonderful info, Leila. I was scratching walls to create vba or macro in order to refresh the numbers, but your F9 method which I just tried on my random number generator works perfectly! It made my life a lot easier, and besides you teach a lot of some other important excel tricks. Thank you very much . . . .

I have Office 365 and noticed that random number generator, which I created years ago, no longer recalculates when I depress F9. Through some experimenting on the keyboard, that the Function key + F9 now recalculates my 60 fields for random numbers. Just and FYI. Thanks for your videos.

  • @ChristoHuman

    Hi Leila,
    Thank you for the video.
I've created a times table sheet for my daughter. It includes so much like a timer, score keeping, auto calculations etc etc etc.... and put in a lot of effort to write the macros.
    But now I'm stuck.
I would like to randomize some of the cells without repeats and this is all possible in your video.
But what can I do to prevent the randomized cells from changing when typing in other cells. I only want the random numbers to change if she press F9. Is it possible?
So basically, I want her to press F9 (Refresh), complete the times table. Once done she only needs to refresh again for a "different" times table.
As it is completely automated with the press of one button I don't want to COPY and PASTE SPECIAL VALUES.
Your input will be greatly appreciated!
    Christo (South Africa)
    ----- EDIT------
I was able to achieve this to change the Calculations Options to Manual, and Creating a "Reset Macro". But your video helped a lot in my quest to randomize the numbers and to reset to a new and different question sheet with a press of a button),

Can you do a video on best practices for storing important emails outside of outlook? The company i work for rolls emails off after 90 days. Projects I work on can last all year and email has lots of history in it related to projects that I sometimes need to reference....like proof of project decisions made. How do you extract important emails? What are best practices for organizing and storing them so I can find them long after that 90 day retention threshold is hit. Thanks.

Leila- I have a list of 10 companies and each company has 5 or more contacts. I wish to assign the same number to the first contact of each company. For example- Assign #1 to the first contact of each company. Assign #2 to the second contact of each company. So on and so forth for the rest of contacts
