  • In this Vlog, I'll show you there is far more to see and do in Gran Canria than you might think! As someone who visits’ regularly to recharge and rarely leaves town, I spent the week searching for the hidden gems, and attractions such as the Barranco de Las Vacas rock forms, the culture in Aguimes, the fantastic fishing village of Puerto De Mogan, and beaches of Puerto Rico. My trip also includes a trek up Roque Nublo, the amazing sights around Las Palmas and of course being in Playa De Ingles, the The Yumbo Centrum and its party atmosphere!

As a native from Gran Canaria, if you would like to explore less trodden beautiful mountainous natural places, I would recommend Artenara and its Mirador de la Cilla, the troglodite village of Acusa Verde, the troglodite Guayadeque ravine and it's cave restaurants, as well as the beautiful village of Artenara and the wonderful pine forests and cliffs of Tamadaba. For beautiful palm-groves, Santa Lucia de Tirajana and Fataga, going up from the tourist resort areas on the southern coast. Greener areas, like Teror and Valleseco, or Fontanales. Beautiful hikes starting from the mountains to the coastal areas, all along the numerous gorges or ravines, with an amazing variety of flora due to the lots of microclimates. This is best from November until spring, from April to the end of May, when all the multi-colored flora explodes in bloom. And for the rich cultural patrimony, Vegueta, the oldest part of the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (where you shouldn't miss the amazing Las Canteras beach), Arucas and it's neo-gothic cathedral and richly ornamented 19th century buildings with lots of stone in their façades, where you could have a look at the exotic Jardines de la Marquesa gardens, you could also go to Teror, where you could find more traditional architecture, with wooden balconies, the downtown areas of Guia and Gáldar, and Agüimes, as shown on the video, are worth a visit as well. Then you have the beautiful small town of Agaete and the Puerto de Las Nieves, with white houses and blue doors and windows, reminiscent of the Greek islands. There you could enjoy the sight of one of the highest sea-cliffs in the world: the Faneque cliff, falling down from the Tamadaba pine forest onto the sea. The road to La Aldea is possibly frightening, but beautiful as weel. You won't forget Gran Canaria y you visit some of these places. And oooh, the view from the highest top of the island, Pico de las Nieves, with an incredible sunset views toward the island of Tenerife if you can, shouldn't be missed. You won't be idle for a couple of weeks at least, and you won't forget the island after you visit at least half of these things. ;)

@@JayCurtis We have 5 full days and a car, based on the current Covid climate, it is definitely something we will check out. Where did you say again we had to go on Google Maps if we wanted to see that valley you showed in the video. Not to the original destination.

@@Svenywhere sounds wicked! Search 'Tobas de colores del Barranco de Las Vacas' on Google maps to find it. Youll see the 2 parking spaces on your right and the embankment to walk down on your left. Go through the tunnel and follow the track a few hundred meters and your there! Deffo worth calling in Aguimes on your way back!

I take it 128gb would be a minimum? Thanks for the reply buddy 👍

At the barranco de las vacas, there is actually a bigger parkinglot near the place you parked (4 or 5 spots?)
