@@AnglingDirectTV I will be back in the UK next couple of weeks mate. I will let you know for sure, cant wait!! Have bought so much tackle from you guys, I am excited!!
It will work. It's no different in its behaviour on the bottom to the fixed paternoster rig that John Wilson used to recommend. I've used a fixed paternoster using a sliding knot for years and it does work, even with strong lines for barbel. My only problem is that many commercials and some clubs will ban it because the feeder is not free running on the main line. Even though it might be possible for a fish to pull the hooklink off and away from the feeder, owners and club bailiffs might not see it that way.
It's not free running though! If the line breaks above tje feeder the fish is swimming around wirh 2 foot of line and a cage feeder!.. Your best just using a online method feeder shirt hook length where it's too short to flick up and get a tangle especially when your hook bait is within the contents on the method feeder.. For me cage feeders are not the most affective on commercial fisherys.
Thanks for the comment! If your fishery requires a free running set up, then another rig will be needed for sure. As far as safety goes, the rubber stops slide with absolute minimal pressure so the fish would be free of the feeder in no time. Regards, Steve.

Thanks for a super rig I put one together today and it worked really really well.
Thank you J
No problem 👍 Glad you found this helpful. Regards, Steve
Neat little setup, I have a question if I may, could you use this on a slow flowing wide river at all ?

Can this rig be used on a river , and what hook length would you use?
Helicopter rig been around for years
Will a black cap be fine on this set up on the river
This set-up can be used on lakes and rivers, with any style feeder. Regards, Steve.

What pound mainline are you using
I find if hooklink is too thin, or soft, it will get more tangles.
Too thick and/or stiff, won't get bites in the first place.....
@@stephenridd6834tell that to the big tench boys
Hi I'm new to fishing is that rig any good for rivers or just lakes
100% will work on rivers

Two stops below the hook link will prevent it from sliding too freely
It's not free running though is it
He never said it was to be fair, but I’m sure if the venue he fished banned fixed rigs then he would use a free running rig. Just saying.
Nice! Thanks!
You're welcome. 🙂

I’d rather use a twizzked boom .. less chance of tangles in the rotation .
I think both work incredibly well however, this rig is practically impossble to tangle. Regards, Steve.
So it's a heli rig then😣
Helicopter rig which is banned everywhere I fish, must be free running.
Always worth checking the rules. If the venue does not allow helicopter rigs, please use an alternative. Regards, Steve.
i haven't feeder fished for a wile now im a method feeder man, but if i do ill use that way Steve Thank you
The method is hard to beat, let me know how this rig works for you. Regards, Steve.
