The verdict is in folks! According to the store where I bought the blank, it is Canary Wood.
Could the wood be oak ....???

It’s definitely not oak, or any other hardwood native to the northeast region of the USA.
I used to work in the hardwood industry so that’s 💯.

I have no idea what kind of wood that is. But it is a pretty wood with nice hues. Plus I just enjoy watching the transformation of a simple block of wood into a beautiful bowl ... a work of art. 😁👏👍

This sounds to me as some wood that is native to Indo-China and those islands until Australia.
