    OMG I made some yesterday just to satisfy a craving I was having😉..I didn't add the tomato or water from pasta...just the ditalini..frozen peas which I threw in the pasta last 2/3 minutes of cooking,
    Then...out came the bacon bits (no pancetta)in the house..threw them in and that was it...scoffed it all up myself🤪🤣😉😇
    Grazie darlin'....we could be good neighbors❤

    Had to watch this one again...it was hot there the day you made it, but it's freakin' freezin' here near Albany today...snow already too! I'm still deciding if I'm going with the lentils or the peas, lol!

    • @NannysItalianKitchen
      @NannysItalianKitchen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are both delicious, but my preference is with the peas. Don't add too much pasta water. One guy complained he added too much and it was soup.

      P.S. I remember my mom making that soup. I think it was called Stracciatella with eggs and cheese. Your grandmother must have added the tiny meatballs. It's not hard to make. Time consuming rolling those little meatballs.

    Made this: warning to all, becareful how much pasta water you add, I messed up, added way too much and basically the taste was lost. (Taste like, well, hot water of course with a garlic tinge to it). Live and learn, was able to correct it by adding more sauce.

    The website to order the book is “ not secure” . Apple recommends that you contact the owner of the site and don’t give your credit card information. I enjoy your videos otherwise. I love your accent and it is same as my sister who lives in New Rochelle. I am a retired cardiologist from the Bronx who lives in Omaha for last 45 years. Of course, I lost my accent(ha, ha… NOT.)

    This rather than a “Pasta e Piselli” turned out to be a soup, too much liquid ! A classic pasta e piselli is made in a different way, without tomatoes and you obviously put together with the onion some Pancetta, that in a good pasta and peas dish it should never be missed !
    By the way, it should come out a fairly creamy dish and NOT a "brothy dish", with lots of liquid, lots of water, as we see in this video. The Pasta by the way should be cooked directly together with the peas, not cook it separately and then later add the peas.
    PS: A little tip, blending some of the peas can make a nice creamy dish. This also applies to other Italian dishes such as pasta e fagioli (pasta and beans), pasta e ceci (pasta and chickpeas) etc. The pasta by the way should be cooked directly with the peas, not cooked separately and then afterwards add the peas, as if it were a sauce. This of course also applies to the other dishes that I said.

    • @NannysItalianKitchen
      @NannysItalianKitchen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Why not make your own channel? It is supposed to be a soup. Each region makes dishes differently. My Neapolitan mom made it this way and she learned from her Neapolitan mother. You don’t have to put as much broth if you don’t like it. However, it still has the tomatoes

    • @aris1956
      @aris1956 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NannysItalianKitchen It was a suggestion, since the title says "how to make pasta e piselli," and it was a suggestion to make it better, the way we make it here in Italy. Pasta e Piselli should be a creamy dish, not a kind of pasta in broth. One should not be “offended” when someone points out a better method, to then have a better result and dish. Try it and then you will see the difference. Best regards !
      PS: By the way, I am also from the Naples area, and in my house we do it this way, but throughout the region we do it this way. A pasta e piselli must not be a soup. It has to be a creamy dish (as well as a “pasta e fagioli”, pasta and beans, or in particular a classic Neapolitan “pasta e patate”, pasta and potatoes). Then if you like it as a soup, then fine, no problem.
