Something is off about this guys statement. He ain't making anywhere near that amount as an enlisted soldier. Only realistic way is if he is a commissioned officer.
The is an old post, but I hope he spent the money to replace the IMS bearing before it was too late. Anywhere between $1,000 and $3,000 and the engine will run forever. Without, it will be towed to the junk yard toot sweet.

I could be wrong, but he didn't sound old enough to be an 0-6 or above, so maybe he has some other income streams such as rental properties--a lot of them.

Good tip. I'd also be aware of bore scoring in cylinder 6.
Whats the IMS bearing? Where does it go
Flats-Hopper it’s in between the camshaft and the driveshaft I think
I was looking for the IMS bearing comment... Not a real 996 video without one LOL

Facts. It truly shows how much of a honest human dave is

Yeah, 996 turbo is going for $50k. But if you proactively take care of IMS bearing, 996 engine is rock solid as well.
not according to the guys at MotoIQ. There's a reason they're the cheapest 911s, even if Doug DeMuro would agree with you.

They're almost always asking for your "gross income", pre-tax
Good call on buying the Porsche!!!
Those have skyrocketed in price!!
Some are selling for over 100k!
Has to be the right model, air cooled, manual, naturally aspirated. Also it's only worth what someone will pay.
Yay!!! Daddy Dave Said Yes!!! Lol 👍👏👏👏 Great the caller saved enough.
Careful with the centre shaft bearing. It's an endless money pit. Ask Scotty Kilmer
Good advice, a used Porsche in good shape will have little to no depreciation
Not true. The 996 models do not hold much value unless it is a turbo or GT-3.

MrTHL1 that is household income, so including the wife's income. Would be surprising if he is bringing the 135k by himself.
