I just got Verbum 10 software and using it to study theology 101 with Institute of Catholic Culture. The prayer father you prayed in the beginning of the video I learned from them! ❤ Thank you for conveying THE right teaching to us laity. 🙏🏻 side note in listening to Mike Aquilina The Way of the Father episode 3 he points out disorder in the church during the Corinthians. This podcast is clear from St Clement and St Augustine as to what is to happen when this occurs. We seem to be going through it now…I advise anyone to listen to this wisdom. Pray, be humble and don’t fall for “uprisings” or heresy. Know your place and be at peace.

“And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭23‬:‭39‬-‭43‬ ‭

“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭36‬-‭40‬ ‭
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬-‭21‬ ‭
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭26‬ ‭
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
      ‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭
“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭8‬-‭15‬ ‭

Confess to the Lord what your conscience is convicting you of, then go to confession when you can. Watch out for scrupulosity!

What about a priest who tells you "that is only venial?" Should we not confess any sins? In any case any intentional sin is an infinite offense against an all loving God? It is out of pure mercy due to the cross we do not go to hell for those as well? Out of gratitude we should avoid even venial sin as much as we are able?

The Church has always encouraged confessing venial sins, even though only mortal sins are required to be confessed.
