    I will most likely break all the stereotypes.....as I am a female who married a Filipino. We both met in the States.... We've been married now for 27 years.

    It all comes down to women wanting a stable future and money, and men wanting beautiful women. No matter where you are in this world that's what it's about. And in the Philippines, $1k allowance a month puts you in the "stable with money" category, which means comfort and beautiful women (plural). In the U.S., it puts you in the poverty category, which means Ramen noodles and your laptop.
    Where else can you go from poor with no women, to a place where you're rich with beautiful little Asians practically begging for your seed?
    Only in the Philippines....

    I married a Filipina who I met while she was working in Hong Kong (there are LOTS of them there). I can't say there was any of that dynamic as you describe going on. She is very ambitious and was looking to meet people from around the world because she knew she couldn't settle for the barefoot and pregnant life back home. I talked to her for several years via e-mail, chat, phone conversations, texting, etc, before I went to HK to meet her in person. Then several more trips to visit her...I asked her to marry me. She made me wait a while, but she said yes. We've been married eleven years now:) Through it all it all our courtship was very genuine. I never got the idea she was attracted to me because I was white, or from the U.S. She sure hasn't taken advantage in the least, but has accomplished a great deal on her own since she's been here. That's my story...

    Ned, you are dead on with you list of allures, especially the first one you discussed about the "walking ATM". I'm glad to hear that Michelle confirmed it's true, because I've also done a video on why beautiful Filipinas love older westerners... and spoiler alert: "Financial Motives" was the main answer. My video has actually been gaining a lot of traction, because the opinion is coming from myself, who is a younger westerner (30 years old) with a young Filipina (25 years old), which as you know, is not as common. Many of the older westerners would disagree with my thinking (not too surprising), but a lot actually hear where I'm coming from.
    I didn't discuss this in my video, but I'm glad you brought up that it's often a "perceived wealth". Like you mentioned, many of these older westerners are living in the Philippines off of a small pension. Little do the Filipinas know, that back in their own country, these men would be considered BROKE! haha. It's really all about perspective. Thanks for your video!

      Sezstyle your true,, my fellow filipina doesn't know about this things, mostly what think if they saw a foreigners they earn a lot of money. But they never think actually that this foreigners running away from thier own country bec, they can't afford the life style in thier country. For me it doesn't matter who he is or what ever he is, as long he has a good heart,.

      Philippine Dreams Agreed! And I think as long as this is recognized up-front, than it should hopefully prevent "some" of the relationship issues down the road. Or at least I would like to think this... but every case is different ;)

    When it comes to money, I think there is a big misconception about that in reference to filipinas. In the west (USA) and other foreign countries, the cultural concept has become that woman should be self sufficient and able to take care of themselves even if they get married. I believe that it is the responsibility of all husbands to take care of their family, wife and kids, financially. A woman who is looking for a husband should consider whether that man can financially take care of them, i.e., wife and kids. Just because a filipina is looking for a man who can financially support her does not mean she is scamming him or only interested with him because of money. She is doing what i think all woman everywhere are doing when it comes to a husband. If she is gonna have kids with him or has kids already and will spend her time to raise and teach and discipline the kids and take care of him and the family, then she has every right to consider whether he can financially support her in that process. I think the most horrific thing a woman can do is to have a baby and then throw that baby to a babysitter and go off to work in order to have their needs met. And then only see the children at night time or on weekends only and expect that child to grow up healthy and sane. Children learn by their parents example of love, caring, compassion, discipline, how husband and wives are to each other and interact. I think the maternal instincts of a woman is to take care of and raise children and take care of her husband while he works and supports the family. I call that companionship and working together for the best of the family. So if a woman looks for a man that can financially support her and the kids, i think that is normal and not scamming.

      'Younger philipina do wont to contribute to house hold income they wont there own money in general it takes two income in west. Gone are the days she stays home with children some lose self worth doing that regret putting there life on hold. I wont my own money my own checking account. They question there self worth then leave you especially if you did not wont her to work.

      J.R. Paguia yep understand your opinion and I agree to some point. I did agree the first time it happened and lots of red flags popped up. But have you ever had a relationship with a Filipina? They are not like the local girls here in Australia. Now if she says it I dont worry no more like water of a ducks back. She is just testing me I feel. I just know this woman loves me more than I could imagine. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

    • @JRPaguia
      @JRPaguia 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rik & Lyn Bor Yes, I've had several relationships with Pinays, both foreign and domestic. :)
      I've learned to go over the ground rules early on and one of them is I don't buy and won't stand for the "I'm really jealous because I love you so much" routine. Women are jealous not out of love, they're jealous because they feel insecure.

    • @RikBor
      @RikBor 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      mksrookies Maybe some lol but not Lyn. We are joined at the hip and barely spend more than 3 hrs apart ever. We work together from home and prefer nothing more than to be together. Evenin the few times we have been apart we stay in contact using the internet 24/7. We even keep our cameras on while we sleep. She used to wake me up if I fall asleep wrong so I would not be in pain the next day due to my spinal injuries. This is countries apart. She had 2 sons in Philippines one of whome is severely disabled. They are hete in Oz now as well as our 4 year old daughter.
      He requires full time care which is why we are always home.

    Especially if you are a blue eyed blond...even though those physical traits to not readily transfer genetically. I remember a friend who was here for awhile. She was a blue eyed blond in her 40's. Many of the pregnant Filipinas wanted to rub her nose as if that would somehow mysteriously transfer the desired long nose" characteristics to their unborn child.

    Long before the Spanish came to the Philippines in the 1500's there has been already an intermarriage. It happened again in the early 1900's when the first wave of American military personnel that taught English: half of the 6000 who came ended up marrying local women. Having mixed children is nothing new, but is certainly still welcome in the family. Filipinos, in general, believe in the sanctity of marriage....that is the difference from the western world (perhaps similar to western culture a generation or two ago). The "MMMM" you mentioned is analogous to "the "Gold Digger" and "Sugar Daddy" in western culture, but is actually quite universal. Whiter skin is attractive due to the Colonial mentality in which the white westerners dominated a good portion of the world; but also, "opposites attract" ...people are naturally fascinated with something different.

    It doesn't matter what race you are or where you are on this planet, women want security. That is the bottom line. And sad to say, most men in the Philippines are not financially secure. 2nd would be your lineage. And as you will notice, all statues of Jesus, Mary and other biblical people are colored white. They are not painted with a darker skin color. Filipinas view the white skin as a form of reverence. I don't view this point lightly. No pun intended. Whether it be conscious or unconsciously I feel that this is part of how they view us. Then to there's the "I want what I don't have." To be taller, to have lighter skin, etc. For them to have lighter skin is a prestigious check mark. Meaning they would not be viewed as simple workers who get darker and darker each day working out in the hot sun. The whiter they are, the more honorable they feel. This is their words, not mine. I've been going to the Philippines since 2010 & have asked lots of questions. So for example most umbrellas popped open during the daylight hours & no rain in sight is not because they can't tolerate the sun. It's that they want to be whiter. Ask Michelle, she will tell you. Filipinas will not just spirt out info. Sometimes U got 2 ask & ask until someone doesn't say, I don't know. They know, they just don't know how to put it in words that we understand.

I am independent..can have my own money without depending to a man..find an educated filipina and she will disagree with that foreigner-husband-brings-beautiful- baby-idea..

    I would say yes security, only a few are really rich expats A lot of them have tattoes and retired. Those with wives already work abroad and retiring really have a good life in the Philippines. Now a days 80% of actors and actresses in the Philippines are hybrid people. And they making millions of money . Most of them are half British, Americans ,Australians Spanish and others.Thats why I encourage my Canadian friend to have a baby here in Philippines. I would say 15% are super rich, 35 %are middle class and 50% are poor. That 90% are poor what Michelle said is not right.

    In 1898, the US bought the Philippines from Spain $20 million. The Philippines was un der the US Commonwealth from 1898-1946 when the Philippines got its Independence. Yes....when expats go to any countries...the local women will be attracted to that foreigner. Same in the Philippines....Filipinas are attracted to foreigners....Japanese, Chinese, Europeans, Australians and black and white Americans. I mentioned black Americans because....some Filipinas don't care about the race or color of the skin. As long as they have the money...Filipinas will like them or fall in love with them (I hope). They are looking for financial stability first and hoping to go to the US or other countries as well. A lot of Filipinas here in my local area in the US are married to an older white American that they met online. As long as they are happy...then that is great!!

      Melanio Corcino In other books you will also find out that the Philippines has been sold by the Spain to the US BECAUSE the Spain doesn't like to leave the Philippines for free! They already built alot all over the Philippines so they need to get paid for that and that $20M is the payment for what the Spaniards left in the Island. However, Aguinaldo even helped the American to fight against Spaniards. But the truth is the US played a game with the Filipinos. Philippines did not know anything about the set uo and this $20M in the beginning. My great great grand dad was an American soldier and he died in Samar. He told stories according to their actual experience. Sad to say, I read some books about this but sometimes I get frustrated to see how other books tell their biased stories.
      But its good that you take it up here. I love the English Stories around the World.☺👍👍👍

    I find it amazing that a beautiful people/culture would want to get rid of their gorgeous brown skin for white skin. I have nothing against white skin but most of them would probably freak out if they came to the US and saw how many people were trying to get rid of their white skin by tanning. This world is truly confused. Embrace who you are and your culture. It's a beautiful thing.

    Hello Ned and Michelle, it's nice to see you both. In my opinion western guys misunderstand the pinay/filipino culture, as a pinay myself I don't look on western people as a money machine/RICH. I know that what those guys makes are not even enough for their own bills, but if they bring their money to ASIAN countries like pinas it goes a long way bcoz of the currency exchange. It doesn't matter how much you make small or big bucks what matter is how you spend your money. You need to be contented for what you have not what you don't have.
    Remember: Everyone is different. So it all comes down on the mentality of the individuals...
    Keep up your good works Ned and Michelle. Be faithful to each other. GOD BLESS!

    Very interesting! Since I'm addicted to asia and mostly Thailand I've heard the same things about Thai ladies. The white skin is the most important one that you mentioned. I watched a youtube video about Cebu yesterday and it was mainly about the cities restaurants, streets, buildings and the ocean. But near the end they showed an older white man ( 72 years old) with a 24 year old girl. Why the youtuber went from showing Cebu to showing the age difference of a married couple is an indication of what people think we want to see.
    IT's great to see Michele smiling again. Thanks for the informative and funny video, can't wait for tomorrow's update.

    Love your videos.....yikes...i am 66,a young 66.recently I am on a dating site ,Chnlov,and met a young beautiful Filipino woman,she is 27,never married,no kids....I hope....but you guys got me worried. I do not mind they try to marry up financially....woman are by nature nest builders,and need a stable mate.I have been on this site 3 years.....and most are young woman after me...partly because most woman who are single are young....still I did not take serous any woman below 37....but they were few,and had kids....Eventually,I decided to at least read the free mail from younger women,and see if they were on the level,as far as I can see here thousands of miles away.It seemed most were sincere...and I drilled everyone with a battery of question,like why me,why not a younger guy etc etc,the answer is always ,I do not care about age,again they seem to me to be sincere...am I a fool? My intuition says no. they are on the level.She is suppose to meet me in La Palma,Canary Islands,she pays her own way.of course,I do not send any money,I am not that big of a fool.Neither has she asked.....in fact I asked her if she had enough money for the flight....she said she would be fine.So that was hopeful. but Ned your an older guy with a young Filipino so perhaps I missed your point? Any advice ,She is from Cebu,has a clothing shop,in a market,makes about 400 to 500 paso a month,and lives in a small apartment Thanks Stephen

    • @PhilippineDreams
      @PhilippineDreams  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stephen Dufort Are you a fool? I dunno - I think most of us are at one point or another. :) She is paying for her own flight? That's a good sign, but how can she afford that when you said she is making 400-500 pesos a month?

    • @stephendufort4154
      @stephendufort4154 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      She had the clothing shop and very cheap apartment,since she left school,which was like 7 years ago,Her parents are also living in Cebu,but she lives in another area in her own apartment....she has her own computer id=f that means anything,her father is a teacher,her mom is a stay at home mom.She only goes home on weekends,We will meet in September there,and we have been agreed to it for a month already,that gives her 3 months....total,I think she has some modest savings,but I will ask her straight up. In her profile,one of the things she answers,is she is good with money.Also,I found that scam girls,are constantly on chat.....luring men full time.In her case,she is only on chat,before bed,and only there for an hour,then again in the morning befor she goes to work...she walks to work a half hour everyday. In anycase,I am not sending her any money ,for any reason,nor has she ever asked,no presents,and her birthday is coming up,in a few days...I told her no presents...because this site gifts are ridiculously priced,I also said I have a rule...never send money to woman,I never met....I told her that,in the begining,I will try to find out more,from her...How did you meet your girl,who I like,she seems very good person to me.?

      OK ,I will. let you know what happens.... Some comments. Woman ,I think,do want a guy she can look up too,someone who is perhaps more mature ,more experienced in life,more stable,more mature,more emotionally mature then themselves if they can find a man like that.But not to be taught,not to be trained...good heavens! But a man such as described above,has these attractive assets,a guy who they can feel safe and secure in him. This is a plus,and older men embody these ATTRACTIVE qualities. But being trained bye them....never,that is definitely a myth,and as I said yesterday,I have no problem that woman are and should seek a guy with a stable income to make a life with.....I seriously doubt that most girls are seeking a rich guy just for money...they are the exception,the life are just wanting a stable, secure,life to build a safe nest...home for there future family.OK,i heard too,from woman all across Asia,thousands wrote me,and they all think westerners have pretty eyes,and they naturally l like a bigger man.I have nbeen told this over and over....hey,do I mind,I think its good for me as well as them,everybody is happy!
      I should say ,you two,inspired me,as well as Life beyond the Sea....watching you and Michelle,interact,and Enrico and Lynn...I hope that is his name at Life beyond the Sea,to try to look into the Philippines woman,because I like your interaction,and they Michelle and Lynn and the many other videos I have seen are very affectionate,simple living ...it appeals to me to find someone like that ,so your the reason I am here.
      Last question,when I want to send you an update....where do I post it? On one of your videos in the comment section? Or is that word and number I see at the top of your reply ,and address I can use to send my updates....not too good yet on computers still learning ,thanks Stephen

    Yes money plays a factor with men and woman even a rich older pinoy would be thought of about the same.
    The white factors are old and found in all parts of Asia.
    A person in the USA who is very tan well first thought he has lots of leisure time to spend in the sun or works outdoors.
    Yes the Pinoys seem to think different in small ways but the darker the skin in Asia in general mean less education and a working class job.
    They have liked pretty white babies since the Spanish times.
    Most of the American Expats i met living there that where married,seemed more faithful then the European men..
    I was married and lived there and was faithful, so maybe many American have stronger religious beliefs on this matter, i am not sure but it say in God we trust on our money.
    I did always feel bad if i saw a American behave very badly
    I can not say the same for the single men of any nationality living there as there is so many beautiful woman.
    Woman as pretty on the inside as out you would need to be both blind and gay not to like these woman

      +Philippine Dreams Yeah, i am talking married men, and American too,
      since Mitchell said what she said about Americans , I spoke on what i saw.
      I did have an American friend there who had a live in girl friend for over 12 years and yes he cheated.
      By far the Expects from like Germany which have more liberal views on sex as well as other your a peeing(European) country's where the men take cheated more.
      Again money plays it's part in that,Can not even count how many Filipino men i met that had a wife and a mistress.
      The problem i had with that was many had Children and these Children all suffered from these kind of actions.
      Saw many woman also break down when they learned of there husbands actions making them Buang babaye.
      I am more afraid of a crazy woman than buang lalaki.
      Keep the dream alive.
      Wish you both the best

My husband works with Filipino men for more than 40 yrs. he knew filipino men more than I do. He said exactly what you said. They often have side dishes! I can't believe it. Men or women seems the same. But I think it only differs on values. I worked with these kind of people in the US, Europe and Asia. When they talk with their partner in the Philippines over the phone his/her other extra is standing just beside him/her. How on earth these people can stand on that😞

      Philippine Dreams I am going on what you and Michelle said in the first video. I have heard that thing about light skin appeal from other Filipinas. But to tell you the thruth in the two years that I visited the Philippines in the mid 80s I never did notice any particular dislike of black people. ActuallY I felt more at home and welcome then I did in most places in the Stated.

    Long nose, white skin and blue eyes. Breeding stock ya.my wife denys its money, but I don't believe her. Says I'm kind but because of money I think. Says she is not scared when I'm with her because I can protect her. That would be because I'm bigger than Filipinos I suppose. Mostly because I'm loyal to her she says. I'm old, she's attractive and young, why spoil a good thing?

They are rich living in the Philippines with a young women wife! That`s some crazy shit right ned? LOL I love your show because it is so realistically honest LMAO on the breeding stock white men..LOL

      ***** From that angle, it is abundantly clear that they score because the bar is set much lower there....having millions of sweet young things living in poverty make it like shooting the proverbial fish in the barrel. :)

      ***** Indeed. And good for them...as it can often be a win/win situation (long term or short term). After all, everyone does have the right to the pursuit of happiness.
      Happy fourth.
