I understand Avinash's point of view, but I hope he can also acknowledge where she's coming from. There are definitely scenes that are triggering. The filmmaker seemed to focus more on adding these elements rather than strengthening the overall story, which even Avinash agreed was loose. Popularity ( the number of people watching it) sometimes stems from curiosity rather than genuine enjoyment. It would have been great if the discussion had allowed for more understanding from both sides. It's definitely a nuanced issue, not just black and white.

Maximum people already knew the movie was misogynistic even before watching it then why they went to watch it ?

@DamodarSharma-xk2ne I'll tell you for myself- The trailer was cut quite well, and I thought I'll get to watch that father son story Avinash was talking about, I could only see a glimpse of it. Would love to know any father son movie you like, any recommendations?

I really don't understand why this video got so much hate. This is such a wonderful interview with deep insights by Avinash Tiwary. That being said, not only the audience but the interviewers are naive. We don't expect such clarity of thought by an actor. Getting intimidated by someone can sometimes lead to unfair criticism towards them. Kudos to you for not losing your ground and standing by it. True example of talent, good looks and intellect.✨

Some insights were good but he was too harsh in the debate with Alisha and it made it really awkward as she said lets agree to disagree he should have accepted. I believe that both parties are responsible those who make the film and as well as the audience. Its like creating drugs, marketing them then saying the consumer shouldn't have taken them when there's bad consequences. If its a more educated and sexually aware audience such a film wouldn't be a problem but its not the case in India yet. Alisha was correct is saying the bigger superstars and directors being involved in such films is a problem as they draw bigger audience whereas for lesser known actors, people only see their films if they're actually interested in the story.

Sometimes it's a good thing for him that he's underrated and not much popular. The kind of nonsense he blabbers sometimes is absolutely disgusting and unnecessary. He doesn't get what the other person is trying to express, he's just hell bent to prove his point. Atleast try to put yourself in the shoes of others before coming up with your logic. Perspectives and experiences are interwined. But ofcourse, MAN! What to expect? Good for him that he's not popular, otherwise he would have been trolled brutally. And what did he mean by that statement that this gen is always cribbing about generational trauma, this and that? People are talking about it because they experienced it bro! Earlier, everyone kept everything suppressed, now they have acquired the courage to speak up finally. You are lucky that you didn't experience any trauma in your life. But never say such things. This is triggering to so many people and I'm sure if something similar happens to you, you will not like it.

@shadesofshambhavi I read your comment and wholeheartedly agree. I mean, he's a great actor, there's absolutely no doubt about that but his mind seems extremely messed up. He contradicts himself so often that I wonder if he's even aware of it. This interview could have been a beautiful debate on so many points but he's far too adamant about proving his point, even when it lacks logic. It feels like having a healthy debate with him would be impossible because he doesn't have the patience to listen. This isn't the first time either. I’ve come across many of his interviews where he’s made problematic statements. It's surprising that he never gets called out for anything. People seem too blinded by their love for "Qais Bhat" to notice. 🙃

okay people, he was clearly trying to qoute "jab tak india mein cinema hai, log chu#iya bante rahenge" on animal movie issue, plus he deliberately said that movies are for escaping the reality, all he was trying to say ki 'agar koi fictional chiz se entertain ho raha hai then its their choice' but sadly he could not say ki kitni badi % of audience chu#iye hai jo easily movies se influence ho jaate hai [although I believe art should not be judged on black & white, & Yes I did watch animal, it was a good one time watch for me, & yes I find it problematic on more than one scene, but it did not influence me to act in any bad way to people around me, but when a movie creates this huge amount of negatively influenced people & you can't control their behavior then you try to block the source of the impact cause it is easier comparatively, makes sense ], but I request you to not judge him on his words but on his craft, people still listen to MJ & R.kelly after all they have done, & yet you are judging a man who is trying to be as genuine as possible, if you were fan of avinash & now you don't like him for having a different pov on life then apko v apne chasme utarkar ekbar dekhna chahiye , plus uss ladki ko bolne ka thoda sa mauka dena chahiye tha & uss ladki ke points v sahi nahi aa rahe the, hense bad person for a debate, & i have so much free time ki main youtube comment section mein ' why was the curtains blue question ka teacher banke uski answer dene ka acting kar raha hun & I am not getting paid any f'ing cent for that. I should go & better check my cat, also need to book a therapy session for stop wasting time online.

I used to like this actor not only for Laila Majnu but for Kala, bambai, and Bulbul too. Things have changed now. He is a perfect example of passive patriarchy. Having said that please enlighten us where in the movie Raman Raghav the script or the director tried to empathise with the character Raman Raghav! It neither overshadowed the character’s flaws. Whereas
in Animal the director & writer empathises with that misogynist character. In support of the patriarchy, he has made the cringiest scenes. Even in Kabir Singh, the director supported the bullshit system. Yes, art has an immense responsibility towards society. Art affects society. There are crazy examples of movies that have been inspirational enough. Lastly, someone wise had said never meet your idol. From now onwards I will stop watching the interviews also of my favourite actors. Because you Avinash can’t deny the responsibility of an artist too. Oh boy! You are in delusion. Hence try to listen to others' points. Rethink. Speak. Repeat

@ Listen, hosts, are always intimated. Puchhunga to vivaad Ho jayega type. Not everyone is Samdish or Rajdeep Sardesai. Anyway, I am very shocked that this man doesn’t allow her to make the point. It’s like he has to win. Tumhe pasand na aye phir bhi tumhe manna parega. Shocking. As you haven’t watched Animal. You can’t understand my point of course. Let’s not go there. I have a problem in celebrating patriarchy or putting words in defence of patriarchy. Animal celebrates patriarchy. Whereas in Bambai Meri jaan No where patriarchy is celebrated. I can give tons of scenes and frames, and music that opposes misogyny. Condemns chauvinism. The animal is just the opposite. Lastly talking about the controversy during the trailer release of Animal it was purely a marketing gimmick. Even infants can understand that. They made up a controversy on “oh too much violence “. Like, come on gangs of Wasseypur had more violence. Having said that before arguing I would suggest you watch Animal. It is cringe, chauvinistic, misogynistic, harmful, half baked. And this man is defending the movie. Wowwwwwwww

@amro _b Oh. Another one.,"I am cancelling you. You disappointed me. Educate yourself". Dude. People like you are the delusional ones. Thinking whole world revolves around you and your opinion. Avinash, Ranbir, Vanga ko ghanta fark nahi padega whether you watch his interviews, his films or not. I mean animal earned 600 crore man.
It's ok if you don't like films with aggressive heros. Your choice. Don't watch. But when you show it off as some superiority complex that look I am the only intelligent one, you guys are ignorant, you don't understand impact on society and all that stuff. It becomes counterproductive. Come out of your I KNOW IT ALL attitude.
The obsession that you guys have of changing world through cinema is highly misplaced one. Even delusionnal. Pink film ke baad sexual assaults kam ho gaye? Gandhi ki biopic dekhke kitne Mahatma paida huye is desh mein? Rang de basanti le baad kitne ministers ko goli mari gayi? Come on man.
