Almost cried when I first heard this on my radio in New Horizons. City Folk (Let's Go to the City as it's known here in the UK) was my first Animal Crossing game and holds a special place in my heart.
Nothing beats going to the city with your golden ABD card and splurging at Gracie’s. Or checking what emotes Dr. Shrunk was performing that day. And especially, Kick’s shoe shines. Good times back then…

(As demonstrated in the Pikmin games by the "It's almost nighttime" transition to playing on a music box) I feel like if there were a bit more quirky elements to this song, and its instrumentation was altered appropriately, it'd fit into a Pikmin game quite well. I honestly have to agree, the game play ultimate was very simple compared to the new ones. Though it was the last Animal Crossing using the "old Formula".
I never played City Folk, but the music is definitely the best in the series. It’s not as soft as New Leaf, but something about it is so calm and relaxing. I guess that’s why its music gets in all those “Animal Crossing sleep music” videos
