My mum has the estate version on a 2004 reg, currently on 210k miles (Was bought in 2006 on 17k miles), doesn't have heated seats or xenons but does have cruise, rear parking sensors and a sunroof. I've been thinking about buying off her in the near future, I think it'd be good fun!
@@BenSchofield These are great fun and the extra boot space is fantastic. Easy to mod and a simple R-Tech or Shark remap Stage 1 really give it's that extra grunt which should've been from the factory!
I've been after an estate version and missed out on a pefect one a little while ago. But I'll only buy a full spec'd one which is very hard to come by. But they are out there.
Česká modla po 1.9
Mines Had 180k there was not one drip of oil anywhere ecs coil pack upgrade ko4 blower jettex exhaust
I've just bought one of these beauty today... Well happy! Got a bargain! Beautiful motor, full mot, 115k miles. Timing and water pump done at 95k... Runs like a dream, its completely standard so a decent Blank canvas. In red the best colour... Well pink as its all fading 😂 nothing a full t-cut won't solve...
Your right dude these are brilliant little family cars! I got a right bargain, great value for money cars!!
These with an exhaust and a cheeky stage 1 or 2 map (not stupid pop and bang map cos they run like shit with that done and getting pulled every 2 hours) 😂... Tell you something prices on these have shot up... Future modern classics these!
How much did you get yours for?
@@TheGhostOfTheNorth I've got £1200 in it not too bad, I've done the obvious put a dual port dump valve on it and ram air cone filter, I'm just in the middle of putting a side exit exhaust on it as my back box snapped off and I can't be arsed paying the expense of a custom exhaust. So gonna but a mk4 golf gti side exit on... They aren't too loud as I've still kept the cat... Very quick for old cars these, a lot nicer to drive then golf mk4's too
lovely car ! 😁😁...... but the insurance would be a killer!
Which VW Golf model did you take the seats from?
Volvo s60 cost me 1k for the car and couple cheap mods to push it over 200
Have a vw passat same 1.8 engine. Serviced well 18k+ miles keep them serviced and use synthetic oil or you'll fuck the engine. Sludge it up and end up with a banger
just came to say, this is a hatchback.
Hatchback in saloon clothing.
It is a liftback
Great value
Im looking at one tomorrow 88k for a grand. The paintjob is faded and not very good, but the rest seems fine. Will see what it is on the test drive .
What happened?
Hey, where is the front lip bought?
27 mpg Is crap for 229 bhp car , big boat with a 1.8 turbo engine which I think are crap engines ,, I had a gsr lancer 98 for 800 pound .1.8 turbo and with few small mods I wud be over 229 bhp with 4 wheel drive and back years ago you could insure it as 1.8 diesel lancer
Where the hell did you get a GSR from for 800 quid! Not in the past 20 years
DarkStryder360 , 2 years ago ,, bought it in Wexford in Ireland ,all she needed was touch of paint and the breaks doing , calibers , disc , pads break fluid and she was grand ,,1998 model not evo 2 shape there worth lot more
