Glad you enjoyed it! I like showcasing games that are a little off the beaten path, just in case someone finds an overlooked gem that they really like. Thanks for watching!
I find that, in general, you take the ratings on BGG with a grain of salt. I check the rating, but then I read the comments attached to the ratings to get a real sense of what is going on. As well, "thinky" games almost always do well in the ratings, and lighter games seem to not do as well, for whatever reason. I think this game is fun for what it is - what depth can you expect for an 8 minute game, right? But it isn't especially innovative or anything, which probably hurts the rating somewhat.
@@LegendaryTactics it's fairly well known that BGG's ratings have a complexity bias that rewards heavier games, in fact some people have analyzed the data & published updated ranking lists that remove the bias. Also, older games tend to have lower ratings, apparently BGG users tend to like newer games more, which is not surprising. So yes I think ppl need to do their own research & not just rely on the BGG ratings.
In some ways, I guess. There's no combat though, and victory is not based on player elimination but on victory points. Most importantly, you can play a game in around 10 minutes! That's certainly not the case with Risk.
I've _never_ heard of this game before, but the walkthrough was really interesting. Thanks Nato!

A little skeptical given that its 6.6 rating on BGG is pretty dismal... but does sound intriguing...

So it’s Risk with extra steps?
