Enid Blyton's Go ahead, Secret Seven - as a multi-actor dramatic audiobook play. Book 5 of The Secret 7 series, originally written in 1953.
George is in trouble and has to resign from the Secret Seven - now it's up to Scamper the Spaniel to protect the rest of the gang from danger as as they go in search of some missing pedigree dogs.

This version is abridged by Philip Evans with a running time of 41 minutes. These shorter dramatizations are ideal for 'reading' in a single sitting and are great for bedtime or car journeys especially with younger kids. Recorded by Hodder Children's Audiobooks in 1998, performed by John Baddeley, David Shaw Parker, Chris Strauli, and Jan Francis.
This is shared from a recording of a cassette tape, so lots of old-fashioned tape noises and hiss, but still very listenable and an enjoyable telling for childhood nostalgia and relaxation or for excitement in new generation of imaginative listeners.

Certainly can tell the difference from the 1983 version I grew up with, including the younger cast and lighter music but still enjoyed it 👍🏻
