I would’ve liked that too, it would be so cool just seeing them hang out, plus hear some backstory or interest from Lester as he is telling Franklin. Well I’m still glad that they are still good friends after all these years, even to the point where Franklin becomes a CEO 8 years later, they still communicate and keep in touch. Plus I like during the Big Score Heist (Obvious) when they embrace each other it’s very engaging and fun to watch.✨

Lester is probably the only person who helped Franklin get to the life he dreamed of.
What about Michael? Without Michael trusting Franklin to do the jewelry job Lester would've never helped Franklin, also throughout the story we can see that Michael genuinely cared about Franklin
@@eduparada970 I watched an essay on the gta 5 story, how Michael wasn't really inoccent. And one in game quote where Franklin complains how it feels like got no where (in the mission where Michael and Trevor dress up as cops. Franklin said he's just stealing cars for some rich guy and doesn't even get paid in the end. )

Lester even asked Michael if he was sure about working with an amateur that never has done a job like the jewelry store and Michael with no doubts said that he was sure Franklin was good, he even told Lester "See I told you he was good" after completing the heist... Btw He also told Franklin to get away from him once Trevor came back tk his life and Dave told Michael what was happening with all the fbi shit, it was franklim himself that choose to stay with Michael because "I did more money with you in 1 day that I've done for years hustling" and that he owed Michael the favor...
Being older, Ive started to appreciate the dialogue more and more in the story and not just the cutscenes but the on the road dialogue too, it just feels so natural
That's how I was with Vice City. I played it as a kid for the destruction. I found it on sale in college and enjoyed the story and references
I think lester is just happy that one person he’s working with is actually thinking and not sulking on the wayside or throwing bikers off bridges
Or discussing economics to people he's tied up under the pier.
I like how Lester is always immediately ready to help whenever you call him, as if he is running a 24/7 support hotline. "Hello, this is Lester's support hotline for troubled gangsters, you're talking to Lester, how may I help you today?"

@@Mentelgen-1337 our online characters probably know of Lester from Lamar, but I don't guarantee anything. I think Lester notices our hustle and helps out, considering we unlock his remove wanted level at lvl 21, meaning we don't "know" him until a little bit of hustling around, where he lends us favours.
I think it was referenced that Lester got insomnia and the only times he falls asleep is when he is high on painkillers and alcohol
@Mentelgen-1337 did they remove the old cutscene where your online character meets Lester? Back in the day, when you reach level 12 or 21 or something he'd call you anonymously and request to meet you because you're a new criminal making noise, so he (similar to Martin and trevor) takes the protagonist under his wing, you go visit him at his house and meet him formally.

Well it's also an incentive for Franklin to work with Lester in the future. He saw how effective Franklin was as his assassin, so he rewarded him as a further investment for future work. That's how I looked at it. Everything Lester does has layers to it. When he assassinates, he makes sure to get stock so he comes out on top when it happens. And he also makes sure he's in a somewhat moral right for things like this, which he is. He instills this into Franklin who takes these lessons with him into the Agency.
Lester taught Franklin into a good protege. Franklin is directly continuing that work. Micheal may have talked of Franklin as "the son he never had" but Lester went one step further and really succeeded.

@ True. In my headcanon, Paige (and probably Lester too, to some extent) designed the ideas for the Terrorbyte and the Mark II, and then got people to build it.
Then again, a recurring theme of this game is that no matter how good any individuals operating solo are, the government always has their hands in everything at once, and too much (like the whole Avon Hertz incident, or even ten years earlier in The Wrap Up after the gang hit the Union Depository.
Probably the IAA and FIB had tabs on all these guys for a while and it was never noticed. Hard to pick a fight with those guys and come out on top.
Also, I just remembered; didn't Vincent get you to steal something from some other dude with a Terrorbyte for the Cluckin' Bell Raid well before Jodi's stuff was launched?

There is something funny about that gas station. Ran a few tests, and that explosion sound is pretty much scripted to that location when you're in a certain proximity.
In the entire team of psychos, Franklin is the voice of reason and manages to get along with everyone

It makes sense why the two get along so well, Franklin appreciates doing a job with a plan first, rather than Lamar who just likes to go in guns blazing and figures it out as he goes along. He finds that no one can do a detailed, intricate plan like Lester, hence why they work so well together.
This is true, even in the merryweather heist doing the freighter trevor will say "almost forgot, heres the rifle with a thermal scope" and Franklin is immediately annoyed and says like "almost forgot? I thought this was well thought out plan" or something like that

Franklin rarely starts shit in the game, compared to Mike and Trevor, and moreso dragged along by association. Being fair, he also isn't against being part of bull like with Lamar or Michael but he doesn't actively look for shit to start by himself.
If there's only one of the three you could keep alive, Franklin is your best bet.

He’s following his dream of being a movie producer, and he started patching things up with his wife and kids. Only reason why he got back in the life was because the tennis coach hid in a kingpin’s dream house, not out of boredom

Even the tennis coach ordeal was purely his own rage and love for violence. It was completely unnecessary and that one action ends up exposing his secret to everyone, kickstarting the whole events of the game.
Plus he clearly enjoys doing crime and heavily admits missing those days so, even if he didn't have a debt, its likely he would end up going back anyways.
Plus the debt is settled after the first heist but, due to Mike's ego with needing to be a badass quoting shit, he blows his cover and brings Trevor back into his life
Especially as his violent impulses come back like with having Franklin crash into the car lot or having a shootout with porn producers.
He does become happier and more appreciative with his normal life as the game goes on, but Michael had his honeymoon phases before.
If you are the one quickly needing to decide which of the three psychopaths to keep, Mike isn't the worst but he's still way more impulsive than Franklin.

Michael, Lester and even Trevor dropped everything to look after Franklin to keep him fed and rich throughout the game. That’s why you can’t kill Michael or Trevor. You’re indirectly betraying Lester by doing it.
That’s definitely true. But even though if Franklin chooses to kill either Michael or Trevor, Lester would understand that Franklin did what he had to do and states that they will still keep doing business as usual. Yet, I can still imagine Lester being sad that one of his old companions died and found no other choice to deal with it. It could explain why he advised Franklin to kill both during The Third Way.✨
Michael is a father figure to Franklin while Trevor is more of a crazy uncle. These people are crazy, but they did take care of Franklin whatever he needs.
