It's a real shame that you didn't include Ready or Not. That game is arguably the new gold standard for realistic police situations (although they always aim for the scenarios to be on the heavily dark extreme of what police may encounter)
@5:12 I looked a bit into the case and I just noticed that on the video it was spelled "Ground vs Connor" when the case is actually titled as "Graham vs Connor". If you listen to Chris closely, you can hear his pronunciation of the case title as well. Just want to point out that little error.
First, Chris, congrats on your new job (I saw the instagram.) Second, you mentionned always having a plan. Well, here in Canada, our Use of Force guidelines revolve around what we call the "Assess, Plan, Act" or APA wheel. So, you're onto something, methinks.
Concerning the Hostage Situation that happened in Dead to Rights: Retribution I totally agree with Jack's assessment of the situation if the suspects aren't willing to negotiate don't just stand around and hoping the suspects will negotiate, immediately start calling in for back-up aka getting the SWAT Team involved and start making plans to breach the Nakatomi Corporation Building in order to rescue the hostages, and as soon as the suspects murder a hostage which they did via pushing a female hostage out of the second story window to her death then that means Jack upon seeing them murder the female hostage via pushing her out of the second story window was within his right to go in and start taking suspects down with lethal force as the murder of the female hostage pretty much means the situation has gone all the way south it's time to go in and take the suspects down by any means necessary in order to save the hostages
man I am just lost at the nerdom backdrop. I see citadel paint pots, godzilla, wow. goddamn that is my childhood right there. also a bit grim reminder of the vest that you are on-duty always. if a calls comes you gotta go. man I could not bear that 24/7 all year round.
I’m surprised y’all didn’t bring in the Hostage situations from Deus Ex Human Revolution. There’s at least two: 1 involving a possible shootout while the other was more dialogue.
I'd really like to know what he'd say about what I can only describe as a nightmare scenario: when the cops get shot at but the situation is unclear. Either 1) enemies shooting from in between civilians, or hostages and it's not easy to tell them apart. (sure civilians are likely to run, but it would still be utter chaos with civilians trying to hide as well) 2) probably only in the USA: what if two fractions shoot at each other when the police arrive? It might be gang members fighting each other, or armed civilians engaging terrorists...
The needs of the many vs the needs of the few or the one, an old Vulcan proverb that Star Trek eventually determined was mistaken. Applicable in this scenario due to being unable to save the one either way.
This is prolly more of a movie thought. Im thinking you would usually know the identification of the person your rescuing or your target. I guess the movie thought comes in as what if its a distraction of some sort or the ID of people is twisted. A situation of a person holding another hostage with the good guy holding the bad one and the wrong shot is made
Awesome to see Chris the greatest cop in the world in this video and in his own channel will you please do martial artist react to ninja gaiden sigma cutscenes plz
I think you're confusing the 26/11 Mumbai attacks & Nairobi Mall attack with "Dubai Mall attack". They must've both been case studies for law enforcement & SWAT worldwide. 26/11 was far worse in terms of scale, planning & training of terrorists.
It sucks that the R6: Siege footage wasn't authentic since it was given a graphics downgrade before release. The actual game is so different in some ways, compared to this footage, not just graphical-wise.
Great video with Chris the Cop! He's a true gentleman and he's a gamer too, I love it~ Too bad that they showed him DAT fake, scripted footage from "Rainbow Six: Siege". XD Dat footage is *SO* goddamn fake and fabricated. They should have shown him hostage rescue gameplay "Rainbow Six: Vegas" 1 and 2 instead. Hmph. :P Otherwise, great video! Thanks again, Chris!
I seriously cannot wait for the Max Payne remakes, never playing 1 and 2 before I’m so excited to experience the games with better graphics and controls 👍
Chris the Cop, if you know the Police Quest games, the SWAT games, Darryl F Gates tutored simulators, they emphasized that a suspect had to have the gun up, be about to kill, before you could legally shoot him or you get demerits. Doesn't apply to your squad mates, they can fire at will. Tom Clancy in his Rainbow Six encyclopedia on military, police, intelligence, special forces, notes that the war like language from soldiers SWAT and law enforcement bring in to help train bothers officers. Again this was turn of the millennium, 2000 - 2001. Now you have Dave Grossman teaching to derive pleasure from killing. I'm thinking this a change in policy over the some twenty five years. Have you faced any of this soft approach to an armed offender? I imagine such thinking would be incredibly dangerous when an assailant has no problem going out in a blaze of glory rather than being able to be talked down without incident.
De-Escalation is at the tip of the tongue in the country, so yes, there is a movement for the police to give suspects more time to give up. Let's see how this plays out.
@@ouieed It's always funny to me that this probably went through a few people before being posted on the channel and nobody caught it. It's like how music lyric videos always misspell simple words religiously.
I was wondering what that footage was supposed to be! Couldn't quite put my finger on it but I knew it just looked so uncanny compared to what I've seen of the game play.
As cool as the old version of siege was I still think I perfer the Siege we got. The old siege seemed like a game that would be fun for a couple weeks but then you never touch again.
I definately agree that we don't need to worry about police going in guns blazing during hostage situations. Uvalde proves worrying cops will take too much of a risk attempting to rescue innocent bystanders is fantastical enough.
Did you miss the parts where he acknowledges that it’s a game? He knows this, which is more than can be said for a lot of the people Gamology brings on as guests.
Sure, because the guy who’s been in law enforcement for the last 26 years “isn’t a cop”. Next I suppose you’re going to say the Earth is flat or that we never went to the moon?
Always a pleasure to see Chris The Cop in this video's and on his own channel.
I always like the videos with Mr. Cano. It's interesting to see things from his perspective and his insights.
Imagine the pressures in that room as three different breaching charges went off hostage was dead .25 seconds into
It's a real shame that you didn't include Ready or Not. That game is arguably the new gold standard for realistic police situations (although they always aim for the scenarios to be on the heavily dark extreme of what police may encounter)
There's already been quite a few videos on that
@@H3llfire320 true, just searched their channel and saw. Thanks for pointing that out
He also has about 40 videos playing the game on his personal channel
there's a video of him playing Ready or Not together with a real life Ranger an SF and a Marine.
Seeing that early build of R6S made me shed a tear 😪

TY, lots of stuff on my channel.
Cool episode. Real police thing grows on me more and more when I'm listening to Chris.

🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯.
Chris the Cop really is giving us his insight from his experiences in the field and entertains us at the same time.
Thank you!
next a video on : a rescued hostage reacts to hostage rescue in video games
The first clip was close to James Bond-esque minus the fact Max Payne was taking cover way too much
Loved the multi clip collection style video for chris, keep it up gamology, his knowledge is always so damn entertaining to watch!!
TY
Chris being the coolest about the games and not badgering them about the Hollywood parts
Thank you for the content 🔥
I clicked for Red Dead in the thumbnail and the video doesn't contain any Red Dead. Sadge.
The thumbail changed xD, now has niko and captain price

Awesome Star Trek reference! Spock was the best!
I’m surprised y’all didn’t bring in the Hostage situations from Deus Ex Human Revolution. There’s at least two: 1 involving a possible shootout while the other was more dialogue.
That one was annoying because if you take the shot (like a cop is trained to do) all of the other cops get mad at you and call you a murderer.
I'd really like to know what he'd say about what I can only describe as a nightmare scenario: when the cops get shot at but the situation is unclear. Either

12:32 you know exactly what he is talking about (the uvalde school shooting) pathetic officers in that situation
Hey, you guys make great vid, keep it up
Awesome video! You should invite a TH-camr known as StorminCellar onto experts react and have him look at WarThunder gameplay of USAF jet fighters.
I'd love to see you review the hulu series The Files of Young Kindaichi it's a really good detective series available in both English and Japanese.
*Gamology
Bro Chris the Cop and Donut Operator would be cool
Thank you!
I believe you guys have a typo. It’s “Graham v Connor”. The video says *Ground* just like he said it’s the US case law for the rules of deadly force.
The needs of the many vs the needs of the few or the one, an old Vulcan proverb that Star Trek eventually determined was mistaken.
