Fascinating, impressive how long it took for the strobe to die, the melting also definitely explains why it's not often you see any remains of the alarm after the event of a fire.
Very good quality imo. I've got an adaptabel, and I've had zero complaints with it. Lots of people like the old edwards AC horns, which are also very cool and very durable
I know of a video of two Wheelock AS's that were pulled out of a burned down building, things were charred black and melted and STILL worked, although ones strobe didn't work well or thing didn't work at all, I don't remember, the other, horn and strobe still worked.
Ive thought of doing this with a household smoke detector, but I don't think lighting a battery on fire is a good idea. The neighbors getting angry about the alarm going for so long might be a problem.
Wow, that’s honestly impressive for a fire alarm to withstand an actual fire, and still be working after it’s been mostly melted.
oh man i've been wanting to do this for so long. this is awesome.
It is called a “Fire Alarm”
Also hi Nic! I wish Hayden and you did more durability testing maybe a home smoke alarm
@NewEnglandAviaton987 yeah real
@@nics-systems-electric u should try it lol
You should do this to a horn strobe
Never thought an EST Genesis of all things would be so durable
Until Nic destroys one
@@16BitDoggo haha yeah!
The Genesis behind the fire would be a cool profile pic
Bro I have been waiting for someon else to do this for a LONG time! TYSM!!! btw I like ur videos! keep up the good work!

That strobe is definitely “That’s actually pretty impressive, I cannot lie” approved 👍
I wanna see one with the horn going and what it sounds like as it burns
Lighting a fire alarm on fire….I love it. Really cool how it still works.
FINALLY SOMEONE TESTED IT!!
Next: fire pull station
This reminds me of the fake BG-12 you burned 😭🙏
Yeah
Wow this EST Genesis works better than I thought!
I’m amazed with how an EST Genesis held up from an actual fire. Try doing that with a Simplex TrueAlert.
EST used endure! For real though, it's like that one character that just never gives up, like at all.
For the crappiest alarm I have seen, these results are impressive
And people still hate on Edwards. That stuff just doesn’t die.
they've been in business since 1872 and this really does go to show the quality
Do a horn next
I guess Edwards does put a lot of quality into their hardware, as they've been in business since 1872
Very good quality imo. I've got an adaptabel, and I've had zero complaints with it. Lots of people like the old edwards AC horns, which are also very cool and very durable
I honestly thought in the second title image, you burned a Genesis speaker strobe
I should do this with a 2903
Why though? Those are collectibles
I’ll take it if you don’t wanna do it lol
Please don’t
I know of a video of two Wheelock AS's that were pulled out of a burned down building, things were charred black and melted and STILL worked, although ones strobe didn't work well or thing didn't work at all, I don't remember, the other, horn and strobe still worked.
im happy it was a genesis and not something good lol, btw its my birthday today🥳
EST is now traumatized.
Im surprised at that, I thought it would have taken much quicker for one of the surface mount components to desolder and fall off
boo
I honestly wonder what the toughest fire alarm device is
I can already tell the Wheelocks gonna win Im guessing.
I think the strobe also is lighter for the fire.
bro do this with a horn strobe. I gotta know what happens to the horn
Ive thought of doing this with a household smoke detector, but I don't think lighting a battery on fire is a good idea. The neighbors getting angry about the alarm going for so long might be a problem.
Now do this with a SpectrAlert Advance because these things are really common and really boring
Don’t have a damaged on
Nice Vid
And I thought these thing were super unreliable. 😮
I guess EST was trying to prove us wrong?
now try it with a horn strobe
real “fire”alalrm
That is crazy
Now do this with a 7002t
no!
@HighVoltageMadness mfw sarcasm
those things are mostly metal
I honestly don't know how much fire would do to it. I feel like it would have to get behind it in order to burn anything other than the strobe.
now you should test a cheap amazon device that has no ratings or certifications and it compare to this one
I prefer the after... very Salvador Dali.
WHY DID YOU SET THAT ON FIRE
Do it to a 5505.
I'm suprised ur worried about destroying this one as most installers just toss them when they no longer meet regs
I’m not really concerned but everyone in the comments loses it if they think I’m being wasteful
I might be the 8th comment here before this gets like a million views hopefully!
Stop it
yapper brah
