Informed that the guards can decide who can pet the horses despite what the sign instructs the visitors not to do. The guard can also decide who cannot touch the horse. It is at his discretion. If what I have been informed with is true, this will create issues with the visitors--why they can and I can't? Too much inconsistency for me. Either these are real working guards and horses, or is a Disneyland-like petting zoo.
Or a therapy horse and even props for a photo shoot. Lol. But I agree there does appear to be discretion and it Will Cause confusion with the tourists who see one allowed and others not.
Would it be such an added burden on the guard vocally forbid the tourons from touching the horse?? I mean it would at least be something to do during the hour or so they are on post.
With the way that the guards aren't following that one simple rule themselves, it's going to be harder than ever to convince folks that these are actual military members, and not just props for their pictures. After all, actual military members would follow rules themselves, no? They would speak up and protect the horse, and allow him/her to relax in his/her own space! If their higher ups decided that the guards can allow people to continue to hang all over these poor horses, and ignore the rule, that's absolutely an even worse scenario! What a total mockery has been made of these troopers as they capitulate to every whim of the tourists. It's super embarrassing in my opinion!
ALL Tourist's should NOT be allowed within 2 feet of the Horses . Let the Guards have their voices back !!!!!

I think the guards have been told not to yell because if that were my horse I’d want to protect it.
I know it's not the TH-camrs' fault. But all these idiotic, disrespectful people make me sick. And why is there a new rule if no one sticks to it.
