    After watching this video and other ones regarding the King's Guards and the behaviour of some tourists I think it is high time for a fence to be built around this area in order to protect both Guards and their horses from stupid tourists.

      YES, and Amen. They really need to build a barrier between the horse guards and the people it's just circus. In this day and age when people don't have an internal sense of boundaries, they need to have a boundary put there for them! Also in this day and age with unknown enemies, the guard should never be that exposed. Keep a distance Please. Cameras are made with zoom lenses.

      Like I said before on another channel...ppl act like it's something from Disney land...they can interact and think there is no consequence to thier actions. This is not a person in costume and the horse is not an animatronic prop. They are a real functioning part of this place.
      I've seen this in other places like changing of the guard in Scotland, ppl just standing there and have to be shouted at to move or try to lift the soldiers kilts etc...

    Just before this video I watched another episode where the guard had to push the panic button. I saw some similar behaviors and the two horses one was first the one kept the first one with the panic button. He kept chewing about on his bed and his tongue was asked you and then just waving his head up and down to both sides of the chest areas. Same areas people touch. I'm noticing this horse is doing something similar with the mouth first there are lot of bugs going around and I'm wondering if some of those bugs might have a chemical that they emit. The horses can't tell you that their tongue is burning. Anyone inspecting them wouldn't see it. I'm watching little bugs flying around. The horses tongue is kind of going from side to side, both horses were waving their head this one is stopping its foot it's trying to express something it can't do anything about. Something might have a burning sensation. A second theory is worse. I've often thought of those people that come up and then put their hand to the horse's nose and mouth area who knows what they could put on their hands as a sadistic trick like bengay or some other chemical that can begin to burn overtime. Ben gay gets hotter and hotter over time. I don't think any of those people should ever be patting the horses and touching them who knows what chemical they could have on their hands..✋

    I agree with you, many of the horses also throw their heads up too, they wear a chain martingale type which restricts how far they can reach or I am sure the guards would be hit with the head coming back which leads me to think they are aware of the problem.
    Many years I witnessed a rider having his nose broken.
    There are several things that could cause problems start at the bit and work your way round the horse it breaks my heart to see these Beautiful animals in such distress!

    • @nargilblue
      @nargilblue 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

      The chain is not a martingal. The horses wear a cavalry bridle with the headpiece and bit able to be removed leaving the horse in just a headcollar. The chain is attached to the headcollar and looped around the horses neck like an ordinary lead rope. It's made of chain because they are cavalry horses. In the days of mounted combat the chain would offer some protection from a sword slash to the horses throat.

      I would just point out that no Cavalry horse wears a martingale. What you can see are the leather bridoon or snaffle reins hanging loose, or the steel teather chain, which is attached to the headstall. Most of the trouble that the troopers have with their mounts are the inevitable problems that occur between the necessity for the horse to do what it is told, when told and (the tricky part) for as long as it is required, and trying to take into account the wants and needs of an intelligent, sensitive, and often self opinionated animal, surrounded by well intentioned idiots.

      If he's a young one he's decided he'd rather have another assignment. Not all horses are patient...or he's bored😅

      This horse has a job. It is varied and different each day. He is extremely well cared for and pampered. He's bored, frustrated, and tired of standing still, but he also needs to do his job as he was trained to do. He is learning DISCIPLINE.

    This horse absolutely hates his job and I don't blame him! The tourists really are inconsiderate! Clearly the horse is stressed, back up and give him some breathing room! They are clueless! Poor baby. And bravo to the guard, stayed calm.

      The horse is on duty for 1 hour. Inspection and 2 change- over ceremonies reduces that to 45 mins in the box.

    I feel for the horses natural want to move forward. Standing on stone/cement for long periods can become painful, causing soreness. I wonder, are they at least permitted to ride them forward (guards without all their gear), on a grassy/dirt surface allowing them to loosen up after their required duty?
    They have bottled up tension needing relief.

    I feel so sorry for the horses. Man chooses to wear heavy uniforms etc just for looks. The horse did not ask to be forced to stand with his head restricted, and iron in his mouth.
