    Nice tutorial! 👍👍
I only never ever would drill holes in my boat. I use a jackplate for the transducer and for those cable guiders I use the one with stickers. 😉

THank you. Very good vid. My install didn't go nearly as smooth but it'll prolly work. One thing is my distance to battery was alot farther so i had to join to the existing wires halfway back. I found it odd that the Lowrance wires were a higher gauge than the existing power wires. I hope that won;t cause a problme. Tks again!

You should be fine. And just keep in mind I do this same job 3-4 times a month

Nice concise video. Would like to know your recommendation for what brand/number caulks to use. Also suggest letting folks know not to run the cables next to others to minimize interference in the transducer signal.

    Very informative!
Does it matter if the transducer is mounted more towards the motor or further away?

If the owner ever has to change units and has to go to a different mount, he would be much more happy, if you were to use a hole cutting bit on a drill, to make a nice even hole in the dash, thats looks neat and clean.

I'm now using a hole saw. Thank you sir

@@LostAngler that was meant to be constructive, from personal experience, lol. I did that, and then the next one I upgraded to, I could see the hole, and I was pissed at myself!!!🤣

@@redfish-vg9dj no worries, I like to think that I'm learning and improving on each boat

Great video, What size fuse did you use?

    • @LostAngler
      @LostAngler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

The fuse is provided by Lowrance

Thanks for the walkthru. I'll be installing my Garmin 7SV on my Gheenoe LT25 soon. Question: I do not have center steering, but I do have a grab bar. How would you recommend running the cabling from the finder to the battery (front of the boat) and transducer? A more precise way of asking is how do I drill a hole in the bottom and somehow plug it? The floor of the boat has a very small space where wiring is already present. Thanks in advance!

So you can run a wire fish and go through the center of the boat's stringer system as a wire run or you can use the vinyl rub rails. They are hollow and you can run wires through there.
But best thing to do is call me at the office or shoot me an email with pictures of what you're working on and I'll walk you through it as best as I can.

Does wiring your transducer/gps unit to the trolling motor battery cause interference to the sonar picture when the trolling motor is pulling power from the only battery

What do you suggest for a deepV aluminum boat for mounting the transducer?

There are a number of great videos done by people in Australia that deal with that same issue. Just search transducer placement on TH-cam and there are a couple of excellent videos
