    I have a question, do you know where to get the repair kit? I mean the filter and seals?

    • @PatrickFlinner
      @PatrickFlinner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Seals: Bearing shop would be able to assist. Filter.... ktm parts catalogue? Although you can purchase the damper from aliexpress cheap these days.

    Great how to video, thank you & looking to do this on my 15 1190 ADV. Were you able to take it off easily or did you have to remove anything to gain acess to the dampener?

      Not a thing. Put the bike on the centre stand and grab a spanner, 10 or 12mm i think, but you will have all the tools in the KTM toolkit as well. Take off the bolt holding the rod first, that makes things a little easier. Take your time.

    i did mine few days back....once i open it i found two of filter part thing were totally black in color and once i touch it breaks apart like powdery form,so now im installing it back with any filter in it....will this be ok?

    • @PatrickFlinner
      @PatrickFlinner  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not ideal. The filter is supposed to hold all the impurities, which will act as sandpaper inside the damper.
      Just means that you will need to to clean it on a more regular basis.

      @@nicholaschai4458 Ok thanks! I have checked the ktm spare parts finder and there is no rebuild kit, I asked a WP dealer and same answer, I guess they want to sell the whole damper which is 500 bucks, not going to happen! If you manage to find the spare part let me know!

    good clip! Just a quick question, when you hit the big end to pop the seal out does that not push the seal on the end being hit further into the tube?

    • @PatrickFlinner
      @PatrickFlinner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. Stays put. And if it does, disassembly difficulty just went up a notch.

    Stock is 2.5w

    Does anyone think that 30W is too thick?

      Naaah, if you want a workout everytime you turn the forks that's on you.

    • @bertsteurer592
      @bertsteurer592 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Patrick Flinner You’re way off! The difference between 15w and 30w is hardly notice on the handlebars. 30w might be to thick for the seals to handle.
