    Thank you for this!!! I have same problem with Skoda, both front windows stop working. I suspected problem with BCM(comfort module}, because there wasn't no live data about windows at all. No direct communication with door module and I wasn't sure if it ok or not. So I tried heat up chip and connect scope- surprise LIN data was there after heating and windows started to work. Now I know that there isn't any data or direct diagnostic communication with door modules.

      Yes. It is pointless to use a diagnostic computer. The Vw window modules have their own network and no diagnostic connection

      brown is Ground.
      Purple with white stripe is data bus.

    Hi, my window works. However, my right mirror doesn't fold. Although it does once in a blue moon. So i suspect the door module. Can you advise?

    • @thecannetwork7559
      @thecannetwork7559  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s unlikely to be the door module. They usually only stop supplying current when the amp draw of the motor exceeds a certain value. I don’t know the value but it could be as low as 2 amps. Do a stuck motor if mechanism is most likely. The only way to be sure is to remove the cover from the mirror assemble to access the two wires going into the fold motor and sticking a bulb onto the connection. If it lights up when you try to fold the mirrors, you have a faulty motor assemble (motor or stuck assemble), if you have no light then my immediate thought would be the wiring in the hinge. At this point you need to reach for your multimeter set to continuity and run a test between the module end connector and the fold motor.

      You are welcome. This is more interesting to me as an experiment. I recommend changing the module if it’s faulty, I don’t think this was a suitable repair.

    Hi, I have replaced a drivers door lock on mine but the car still doesn't know that the door is open and shut again and so causes the doors to re-lock etc and other associated problems. Is that part you have there the bit that is fitted to the window regulator?
    I think this maybe my problem.

    • @thecannetwork7559
      @thecannetwork7559  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      this module in my hand is for the window motor but also this module controls the lock and reports lock switch positions to the comfort control system either via CAN orange/green and orange/brown twisted pair or LIN single purple wire with white tracer.

    • @formidable38
      @formidable38 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thecannetwork7559 Thanks for that, very helpful. I thought I'd cracked this car but hey ho! Infact I have 2 of them with the same problems! Doors lock again unless I open a back door and the interior light doesn't come because the car thinks the door is still shut. Both have new locks but still give grief. Furthermore, the old locks seem to check out OK and have no solder joint or microswitch faults. More investigation needed I think.

      @@thecannetwork7559 yes, all the windows work OK. Would this rule out the control module on the regulator? I have a Haynes manual wiring diagram, not sure if that's a good thing or not! When I connect my meter to pins 7 and 8 of the lock module, the microswitch works as expected., it's just the rest of the car that is not receiving the message.

      @@formidable38 if there was a break in the can or lin wiring then the window will not turn active with ignition, instead will sometimes work for 5 minutes and stop, annoyingly. i would remove the window motor and separate the electronic module from it and spray the connections and components with WD40

      which cable responsible for working window after turn on ignition ?
      I cut all cable form module and connect only red/white, brown and sw/gn (control switch driver). Window working even without ignition
      I remove fuse, wait second, insert and window working, I think to put a relay, it cut off the power after turn off ignition

    I have a 2004 passat and the driver door does not lock with keyfob, or the button in the door. The 3 others do as normal. Security light starts blinking which lead me to believe that the car think it is locked. If i open the door, the alarm sounds. If i lock it with the key then everything is normal. So my door lock module does not lock the door electrically. I replaced the door lock module but still not working. Pin 1 and 2 on the doorlock module is the lock unlock pins, they receive no power when keyfob is pressed. Tracing the wires back i end up in a module attached to the window motor. Not sure how the system works entirely, but if im correct the ccm under the floor on the drivers side receives a signal when keyfob is pressed and then sends directions to the window motor module on can H and Can L and then the window motor module sends power to lock or unlock pins on the door lock module. But this does not happen. I hooked up a hantek scope on the can wires, and there is activitity on both wires, when i press the keyfob the signal spikes on both scope channels. One for H can and one for L can. I have continuity checked every wire from end to end and they check out fine. So far I believe the window motor module is at fault, but unsure how I can confirm it.
    Another problem i have is that the power mirror controls operate rh mirror no matter if the selector is switched to lh mirror or rh mirror, i can not control the lh mirror in any setting. Not sure if this is just the switch, but I ordered a new one to test.
    Do you have any pointers for me on these issues. Would be much appreciated
    Robert

      THE CAN NETWORK . Yes all windows work from driver side control panel, the lock unlock button works to, but only three doors being locked, not the drivers door.

      I would check the conditions of the terminals at the multiplug of the window control module and the lock motor. I would check the compatibility of the parts to the vehicle, I’m not sure if anything has been changed in the process.

    • @95tt

      THE CAN NETWORK
      To give the story from a-b, three weeks ago my wife told me her driver door wouldn’t lock with the keyfob, I immediately checked a bit online, and found that most people had problem with door lock modules and they were not very expensive, I just ordered one up to see if that fixed the issue, and it didn’t. After replacing the door lock module I tested the old door lock module with my powerprobe supplying power and ground to pin 1 and 2 on the door lock module. The motor is working fine, so problem never was the doorlock module, If i find out why my door module is not supplying the doorlock module when keyfob is pressed, I could put the old one back in. I also tested the new one and ofcourse that one worked aswell.
      Beleiving it is the door module, can i swap one from passenger door to see if that makes the driver door work again or are they different. Connector on door module looks perfect, pcb inside door module looks perfect, connector on lock module looks perfect, and I have coninuity checked every wire from lock module to door module, and from door module to inside the csr into footwell, all good.

      apart from suggest that you verify all the supplies and grounds and bus cables i can only recommend paying a professional to have a look. someone who knows what they are doing could diagnose it accurately within 30 minutes if its all stripped. there not much i can do over youtube without seeing the vehicle. good luck

    Hello I am trying to fix my SKoda Roomster electric windows brought the car to many mechanics included Skoda and they investigated the door panel and cablings but no faul there apparently, at the moment no body as fixed it , i failed NCT here in Ireland due to the windows issue but they said it is a very simple issue to solve, so why no one is doing it?
    Any suggestion? somebody said is the Comfort block and now I see this video which makes sense....
