This is a TNT pattern for me *but* I made it in viscose and the weight of the viscose (compared to previous versions in linen, cotton etc) made the waistline drop by over an inch!!
So agree with you about first measuring body and pattern, make adjustments and then check and finetune the fit with a quick muslin. So much better results and actually easier than trying to fix things after the fabric is cut and the garment sewn up. Lovely dress! Beautiful fit! 💕
Excellent explanation about bodice adjustments! Your techniques are like what my seamstress aunt taught me when I was a teen in the seventies. The more I watch you, the more memories (happy!) are coming back to me about what I learned from my aunt. It’s coming back to me and I’m more and more confident. You are gorgeous in your well fitting, pretty Lyric!
I’ve had this pattern for a year now and my sewing skills have improved enough for me to give it a go. I’m excited! I feel so confident now to make those adjustments to the bodice and then sew up a muslin. I’m one of your biggest fans - you really know how to teach.
