I think mop is the pvp expansion of wow. U actually can play every class and spec for pvp.
well, kind of, there's still meta in MoP, but I didn't like that "everyone has everything" class desing as much as I thought I would 😔
i havnt played MoP since official, but I remember loving that every class had everything. It was incredibly balanced and you could pretty much play anything to glad in 3s@@MEYTRIX

glad u like it! that's the plan - do all classes, I have played almost every single class and spec on Cata, so it's pretty easy to talk about them, all mage specs will definitely be included 😏
I remember maining destro back in Cata and destro had the same problem everyone else did. Destro, like all other specs, didn't see much increase in DMG.
In Cata blizz did something a little different than they'd done in previous expansions. Instead of just simply doubling DMG and health, they double DMG and TRIPLED health. Some classes however like rogues had better tuning than others. If you go back and watch old PvP montages from Cata, or old arena games you'll see that not everyone did a lot of DMG individually.
In destros unique case, we had a lot of shit we could combo for big DMG and that's how the spec was designed and tuned. There were a number of different combinations at your disposal most popular being immo/soul burn/bolt/soul fire/conflag. And all together that did some pretty substantial DMG and that's how it was designed to be played. Individual spells by themselves weren't enough and that was the case for basically every caster spec.
Destro wasn't AS terrible in Cata as most people would like to believe, it's just not something that's easy to simply pick up. You just had to know what you're doing. It was still in a sense not great, because other things were just simply better and that's really about it, like aff, aff is just..... Better. You didn't have to worry about getting hard casts off, you just... Did DMG, via dots

That's a shame, I really liked Destro in WOTLK. I have a question since I have seen wildly different answers to this -- are aff locks really squishy in battlegrounds and rated bgs? I've seen some people say that they are super tanky due to siphon life and I've seen some others claim that they are paper. I'm looking for a caster primarily for bgs that has some kind of decent survivability.
Kinda squishy, no real defensives, soul link helps and then your drain life healing on a DoTed target is pretty good, but you generally wanna play with a class that can peel enemies off of you - such as rogue, feral, frost mage, squishy in the hands of not so skilled player especially
Coming from a frost mage main pvp, I found both affliction and destro, extremely viable and possibly op for dueling and 2v2.
feel free to duel me on Whitemane or Twinstar, or record a few arena games where you're extremely viable or OP with the class, I would love to see that! 😏

Whitemane Cataclysm right now, then Neltharion will be coming out (will check it out and see how it is) and then Cata Classic in early 2024

not really a nerf, u just have a more viable raid option doing that specc with bane of havoc and more split damage. i still do 80-90 parses on raid bosses in destro lock. i out dps any single target versus a demo warlock

@@MEYTRIX i know but its still as strong as wotlk. If i can single target higher than a demo lock in raid that prooves alot about pvp too. Single target is single target right so what they did is just a branching out of the tree to make it a semi specc fitted for both raid and pvp. I was a competitive player back in wotlk, destro arena. But yes I agree for rated BGs.. affli is better. Thanks for the video! Keep goin ☺️

yep, ele is actually one of the specs that works pretty well with destro too, I would still prefer to have affli with it in 3s though

there is no Cataclysm besides privates right now, and once Cata Classic comes out - this is what you can expect there
