I love that he’s not your typical spiritual type of guest, Rainn! He’s almost against being spiritual in any way because he doesn’t like the negative vibes he gets from people he’s come across within religions. I’ve definitely been there! It gives you the opportunity to show him that he doesn’t have to be religious to be spiritual. You’re showing him your similarities while understanding where he’s coming from and telling him that it’s okay to not like the things about religion that are a little (or a lot) out there. Good conversation! ❤

It’s not just judgy religious attitudes: yes, they’re off putting, but also idealist magical thinking can become so ungrounded that it can lead itself to exploitation by cults and demagogues. Again, no baby with bath the water, but it’s good to recognize both.

Dear Ronny, We love your content, but we love you more than your content. If you're happy, we're happy for you. That's all. And that's exactly why we like Rainn.

It's kind of subtle, but I really appreciated how Rainn got Ronny to enjoy being on a podcast. Rainn's got an aura thats comfortable yet engaging.
Do yall see how Ronny's body language transforms? It's pretty awesome.

      2 hours would be preferred.
I love Andrew Hubermans podcasts, his are 2.5-3 hours long which to me is perfect.
1 hour is just to short, but for their guests it’s probably easier to schedule.

My views completely line up with Ronny.. I’m a logic/science based thinker and I also acknowledge synchronicity when it happens.. but I don’t try to “name” or explain the coincidence 😊 I just smile with gratitude and move on.

Podcasts is the niche for people who like a more organic dialogue. I generally don't watch a lot of TV or movies these days but I tune in to casual, comedic conversations. It's a fun way to learn. This podcast is deep, thoughtful, honest and spiritual but not in a preachy way. Also interesting and educational.

Largely speaking, ‘Tall Poppy Syndrome’ here in Australia isn’t a negative association to achievement or endeavour, it’s about individuals socially placing themselves above the wider Populace. It’s a throwback to the rejection of the English Class System in the UK being foist upon the new Settlement. There are plenty of high achieving Aussies who are loved for it, but they don’t look down on the average person, or openly deem themselves more worthy or above talking to the average person. It’s all about attitude and remaining grounded. We don’t have anywhere near the same Celebrity or Wealth Worship the U.S. has, not even remotely. We will celebrate Character first.

Lovely, beautiful, funny conversation, really put me in a better place. For someone who claims to not be spiritual you can tell Ronny is open to it, maybe searching for it. I've always had the spiritual envy myself, the cynicism and falling back on logic can be a crutch sometimes. A good take away here for me is to allow myself the room to experience wonder and be okay with not knowing. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how it happened it's what you take away from it, how you experience it.

The universe is really weird that I get to stumble upon Mr Rainn's channel with Mr Arthur Brooks interview and then Ronny's interview fresh out of the oven. Such good conversations.
To Ronny, as one of your comedy fans from Malaysia, who has been spending some time living in OZ, i totally agree with you how different it is the cultures in different countries. I admire your courage to choose the non-conformity to pave your own path (comics is such niche here!) , I'm happy for you that you made it to pursue you comedian career in America, kudos and all the best!

I saw my grandpa's spirit in the nursing home waiting for my grandma , who died in the same home a few months later. They were together 50 years. But we definitely have souls. I prefer not to see spirits but probably if you know them it makes sense. Definitely life after due to seeing that. End of life hospice is rough. But good to know more comes after.

I'm not sure if you read your comments, Rainn, but I feel guilty because I'm subscribing to your amazing newsletter Soul Boom and unfortunately as much as I truly wish to be able to pledge that I'll be able to make a donation in the future. However, unfortunately my financial situation is NOT good right now and due to the economy here in Brisbane, Australia as well as the severity of my health, I can't make any financial commitments and I dare not even make a pledge. But I'm posting this to hold myself accountable if not anything else that if I keep fighting this physical, mental and spiritual good fight and I gain financial wealth, then this is my pledge. Soul Boom has been one of the few spiritual/comedy podcasts that has given me so much inspiration and valuable new ways to perceive the world and my idea of suffering. Thank you for being my favourite character in the Office and for all of your contributions Rainn Wilson! And thank you for asking the best questions on this podcast 🙏 Much love and many blissings from Brisbane, Australia 🖤💛❤️

In Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷 we have the Argentinian public healthcare system which is free for everyone, residents and nonresidents. And it’s the best. I can’t tell you how many times I and my family had to go to a public hospital. Specially during emergencies, my mom once fell in the street, she was unconscious , she was alone, somebody called 911, and she was taken to the public hospital. A Dr call me from the hospital, and I went there. They saved her life for free. I’m always grateful for the health system in my country 🇦🇷🇦🇷 it kills me that it does not exists in other countries.

A lot of people mistake spirituality and religion. They're not the same. True spirituality has nothing to do with beliefs the way Religion is based on beliefs. Beliefs is based on thinking. Thinking creates divisiveness with the people. Religion is a very man-made concept. Science and spirituality actually go really well together. Spirituality is finding your true self by being free from your thoughts--and being complete awareness. Awareness of awareness. It is in this practice (no beliefs) that you find love, compassion, joy and peace already within you. All the things that humans are struggling to find in the outside / external world. Everything in the outside is temporary....that is why even if you find love, peace, joy out there.....it cannot last. Nothing in the outside can last.

We have a 2.5 party system and the "half party" has always done best by my personal riding.
Unfortunately they've supported Trudeau endlessly to the detriment of our country and because of the way our voting system works, I'm gonna have to vote for someone "worse" for my city to elect someone better for my country

With countries like China and the US both of whom use, to varying degrees and in various forms, culture as a weapon of soft power , no. In my country, we've already felt the impact of US culture on our own , now China is trying to do the same. Theure even slowly supplanting the national languages of certain countries, slowly erode their relevance. "Learn mandarin for a better future" etc. Its not as blatant as the west's cultural assault, bit its the same.

I love this podcast but this guy has some quasi-xenophobic views about americans that really turned me off. It feels like he watched a few episodes of american television and made assumptions from that. The bit about americans only having lunch with you unless you gain from it... so weird. It felt like that could've been a teachable moment for Rainn to say hey, I think you might be stereotyping. But I think a lot of the world enjoys making fun of americans so... whatever I guess

Hmm, I think perhaps it would be beneficial to reflect on your own biases. Ronnie specifically mentions spending a lot of time in the US before he was famous and he also lives here. Why you would assume his experience with America is limited to merely TV shows is something for you to think about.
I think it's fair, perhaps, to suggest that many of Ronnie's experiences professionally are within the celebrity/hollywood bubble and things in that world probably are quite a bit different than other industries, or just meeting a friend for lunch. But he's clearly talking about a professional lunch meeting.
