when you broke your foot on the cooler it was like when Viggo broke his kicking the helmet in Lord of the Rings. He used the pain for his acting. You and Viggo are one in the same. Amazing.
That ending with Fumito Ueda's team talking about the old Ico video at the 2006 GDC was great and a nice dovetail ending. It's funny how things come around full circle.
In all seriousness this was a great documentary and the cut in with old footage was fantastic. Crazy that I've been watching your videos and films for over a decade!
Haha yeah it's surreal I live in santa barbara, not far from SD so I always liked mega 64 from the early days of TH-cam and their old stuff Makes me feel old
10+ years and these guys only have 400k+ subs? what kind of bullshit is this... Keep up the great work bois, one of the best channels on this site for sure!
Crap guys, watching this sort of thing reminds me of how long I've been watching you guys for and how much you've grown in that time. I still have a t-shirt I ordered from you guys back in highschool, dang. You guys were one of my biggest inspirations for getting onto TH-cam and learning how to make videos, I've gotta thank you for that. The work you guys do is incredibly impressive. I discovered you guys in highschool from that classic RE4 video, and here I am now graduating from uni, still watching you guys. Y'all are quality entertainers and video producers. I wish you guys so much more growth and success in the future. Seriously, I fucking love you guys LH
You guys usually joke around so much and stay in character, but it's really nice to see these kinds of videos. I never doubted your work ethic as a group; but videos like this really show a more genuine side to you guys and really give us a much more clear idea of how hectic everything is and just how stressful and how hard you guys work to keep this train going. I love you guys. And Nicole, because she's so goddamn hot.
Your BTS stuff is always inspiring as hell. No exception here. Really loved watching it all come together. Thanks for all the work put into editing this as well!
You know, sometimes it is easy to forget how dedicated the Mega64 crew really is while watching all the silly content that they make on this channel. It is always nice to something like this to show how hard they work to make us all laugh and brighten our day with there comedic shorts that they produce, and I am happily waiting for the next great video that they make!
I return to this video in all seriousness whenever I don't believe I can make a deadline or can't handle the pressure of something, almost always during finals. This vid gets me through it.
This is great content; would love to see more documentaries from you guys. Great editing from Rocco - I think the presentation really embodied the 'Mega64 vibe', if that makes sense. Pacing was great and sufficiently covers the process it took to create film and edit everything; it doesn't leave much to be desired on the topic, but it does leave the desire for more content as tight as this one. thanks guys
This doc shows perfectly how much effort and passion are put into these videos. That's why Mega64 is one of my favorite TH-cam channels ever, since 2008 when I first watched a skit you guys made. Please make more of these behind the scenes, they're really great and inspiring. And that Premiere timeline just made me feel uncomfortable :P
That was a great behind the scenes. I love it when the Mega64 crew uploads these along with their skits and regular podcast. This one was particularly cool since Ueda had some previous knowledge with the guys from the Ico skit. That's just awesome.
Ueda-san seems like a great guy. I did expect a bigger corporate feel to him but I did feel like he tried to connect to you guys while trying to understand the video. honestly, this brought to tears when he asked about your guys' comraderie and bringing it back to your beginnings as well. i'm so proud of you guys for making it to where you are now. keep on making sick vidz, Freudz Boyz
Beautiful, great work guys. Loved the behind the scenes. Next time I would like to see a behind the scenes of behind the scenes. That DVD tradition is one of the best traditions.
I actually applauded when you guys wrapped the last shot at 8:13PM. Wanting to watch a rough cut nearly 20 minutes before hard stop, them having to translate it from English into Japanese, then actually filming it? I film and edit video on occasion and absolutely nothing was in your favor. What an achievement that it all worked out.
I love these behind the scene videos because we get to see the look of excitement on your faces when you meet these greats of video game industry. I just know the feeling I got when meeting Inafune and Suda was indescribable. All I got was a photo and an autograph, but you got to work with people like that. Keep the videos coming.
I loved seeing Ueda remember the Mega64 crew from so long ago. The next time one of you starts thinking Mega64 maybe isn't going where you thought it would, I hope you remember moments like that. Keep up the awesome work!
This was such an awesome video! I thought it was really cool how Ueda remembered you guys from your Ico video 19:47. The road to one million subs looks bright!
As someone who's working towards becoming a filmmaker, I love to watch the behind the scenes videos you guys do. Super inspirational stuff right here. Great vid boyz
That must have been so gratifying to find that Fumito Ueda not only remembered their old video, but also really liked one that was half about madden. Luv u Mega64
Great behind the scenes video! Thanks for sharing, so cool to experience, to some amount, what you guys went through. You guys work hard, you play hard. Great job!
"So is everyone familiar with Michael Vick?"
Nice Rocco lmfao
when you broke your foot on the cooler it was like when Viggo broke his kicking the helmet in Lord of the Rings. He used the pain for his acting. You and Viggo are one in the same. Amazing.
He is Viggo
Oh my god Numa Numa playing in front of Ueda had me on the floor that was so funny
That ending with Fumito Ueda's team talking about the old Ico video at the 2006 GDC was great and a nice dovetail ending. It's funny how things come around full circle.
"If you don't work with me I'm gonna do cholo stuff to you" Best Rocco quote

Still a great BTS dive. Love these GDC docs.
I want more BTS videos like this! It's so good!!!
There is some on their disks
agree.
Any ones any particular you'd recommend?
Once Upon A Time is great and they released a box set recently for $64 you get a ton of cool shit
10+ years and these guys only have 400k+ subs? what kind of bullshit is this...

LH
Haha hey me too, the RE4 video was so classic. I think I saw them right after high school, like 2008
Always love watching the behind the scenes for these GDC videos. Especially love looking at that wicked premiere timeline. #AdobeNut
You guys usually joke around so much and stay in character, but it's really nice to see these kinds of videos. I love you guys. And Nicole, because she's so goddamn hot.
This is actually beautiful! This has to be one of my favorite documentaries you guys have made. The stuff with Fumito Ueda really warmed my heart
Your BTS stuff is always inspiring as hell. No exception here. Really loved watching it all come together. Thanks for all the work put into editing this as well!
Honestly, these are my favorite videos every single year you make them. I love the behind the scenes look and the dedication that shows every GDC.
Those Behind the scenes really make you really apprecciate what you guys do.
RESPECT

teared up a little at the part, when you were remembering Ico video. You are great guys, glad to "have you" in my life
damn that was cringe. still love you tho
@@worm5593 Not cringe in the slightest, m8
This is by far the best behind the scenes you guys have ever done. Top notch.
So glad you guys made this, I felt like I was right there with you through the stress and excitement!
I return to this video in all seriousness whenever I don't believe I can make a deadline or can't handle the pressure of something, almost always during finals. This vid gets me through it.
I always love watching these Behind the Scenes vids. Makes you realize that amount of work that goes behind every video.
This is great content; would love to see more documentaries from you guys.

You guys are so well coordinated. Neat look at the making of some amazing videos!
I haven't really been keeping up with Mega64 much since Version 3. It's crazy how pro they've gotten
Wonderful documentary. LOVE seeing the behind the scenes.
Ueda is a very handsome man.
gave me goosebumps. You guys are an inspiration to minds everywhere.

Damn dude, that was an awesome documentary. Rocco really is a natural when it comes to putting together these behind the scenes videos
That was a great behind the scenes. I love it when the Mega64 crew uploads these along with their skits and regular podcast. This one was particularly cool since Ueda had some previous knowledge with the guys from the Ico skit. That's just awesome.
For anybody wondering, the music at the end is "End Titles: The Last Guardian Suite" off of The Last Guardian soundtrack
GDC behind the scenes videos are easily my favorite thing you guys do each year, right up there with Faircast
Where is "You gotta goOOOOOOOO." ???????
Seriously WHAT THE FUCK
I was wondering the same thing!
They even said it was going to be in the BTS.
Maybe it's in the "BTS of the BTS".
Just finished video...was thinking the same thing.
This was amazing. Thanks for putting this out for us.
Ueda-san seems like a great guy. I did expect a bigger corporate feel to him but I did feel like he tried to connect to you guys while trying to understand the video. honestly, this brought to tears when he asked about your guys' comraderie and bringing it back to your beginnings as well. i'm so proud of you guys for making it to where you are now. keep on making sick vidz, Freudz Boyz
i died when numa numa started playing in front of ueda hahaha
Beautiful, great work guys. Loved the behind the scenes. Next time I would like to see a behind the scenes of behind the scenes. That DVD tradition is one of the best traditions.

This was really great. Don't watch the podcasts but really enjoyed this.
This made my soul warm dude. Seeing the everlasting friendship of you guys and the impact y'all have made over the years...makes me so happy
This was truly rad. I really love the behind the scenes stuff you guys do.
I love these behind the scene videos because we get to see the look of excitement on your faces when you meet these greats of video game industry. OOOOhhhhh wow that tension was real, more of these please!!
This was incredible. Hearing you guys talk about it on the podcast does not compare to the stress of watching this! Amazing.
This was really impressive. Thank you Mega64 for the sleepless hours you put into all of these videos. The title to this is also fantastic.
This was such an awesome video! I thought it was really cool how Ueda remembered you guys from your Ico video 19:47. The road to one million subs looks bright!
The BTS videos are always great, but this was so so enjoyable. Thanks for taking the time to put this together Rocco
I love all of the behind the scenes stuff, but man, these GDC ones in particular are the best.
Wow, this was really great. I'd love more of these longer behind the scenes vids
You guys work so hard, you deserve more subs. Hope you boys break 1 mil by the end of the year.
what an amazing behind the scenes documentary.
We didn't get to see Shawn being nice to the security guard
I absolutely love these behind the scenes documentaries. especially all the goofs you play on each other, keep up the good work!
More videos like this! This is incredible. A look behind the scenes of video that many never get to see. Thank you for this.
As someone who's working towards becoming a filmmaker, I love to watch the behind the scenes videos you guys do. Super inspirational stuff right here. Great vid boyz
It's fantastic seeing just how much work you guys put into these videos. Great, great job
I love this kind of documentary type thing. Keep up the good work guys, great stuff. Really interesting
Always love coming home on Mondays and seeing a new Mega64 video up, even if it's not an early Wrestlecast.
Love these kinds of videos. Keep it up!
Great documentary. You should make more of these. Also I'm glad to hear Gary Brolsma is alive. I was worried.
That must have been so gratifying to find that Fumito Ueda not only remembered their old video, but also really liked one that was half about madden. Luv u Mega64
hell yeah. I really enjoy these long form making of videos. this one got legitimately tense
aragorn moment with kicking the cooler
wheres the security guy at the stadium telling Shawn hes GOTTA GOOO?
Dang man... the tears started flowing with this one. Beautiful.
You guys are legendary. Thank you for everything.
I shit my pants when the Numa Numa video started playing.
As an Adobe-head I did in fact enjoy seeing the timeline.
Rocco channeling his inner Aragorn on that Gatorade kick. Almost breaking his toe like Viggo
2017 Oscar for documentary feature locked down
You made chills appear up my spine with the words "90 yard return"
Man it really bums me out that they tore down where you guys filmed the Miyamoto & Kojima videos. That place was like a Mega64 landmark
Man, every time you guys release these BTS videos it show just how much effort and passion goes into these videos. Keep up the good work!
And Mega64 lived happily ever after.
Loved the Sopranos Russian impression from Rocko
What an emotional ride
Ooof, poor Rocky pulled an Aragorn, kept it cool for the shot though MAD PROPS
the editing is the heart of mega64
This was mad cool to watch. Also rocco opening the laptop to the numa numa song had me rolling!!
The ico video part got me choked up. That's incredible. great job guys
honestly, I could watch you guys watch like a 'best of' of the fabled shitty dvds each year.
Just straight up freeballin
I'm an editing nut, can confirm, 6:20 made me as hard as a rock.
I thought they were going to highlight on the stadium security, and Shawn going in there
I haven't seen the video yet, but Im gonna comment about it.
Pretty fantastic to see Ueda smile whole watching the video. Very very cool. Great job, boys!!
Great behind the scenes video! Thanks for sharing, so cool to experience, to some amount, what you guys went through. You guys work hard, you play hard. Great job!
#JusticeForFrank
Why you gotta snub Frank in the credits?!!?!?1?!
awesome. you all did a great job
Aaah MAN I was squirming with uncomfort when Ueda was in the room. Y'all are brave, I totally don't blame Shawn for stepping out for a sec.
Fantastic video, can't wait to see more
This is awesome to see, thanks for sharing guys!
Fav mega64 video lmao
underrated video. this deserves more views
Surprising to see Ryan Payton there translating!
Can any Japanese speaker please translate what they are saying at 18:55?
Rachel Clarke weaboo
Aditya Narayan pretty sure most "weaboos" dont actually successfully learn a new language because thats a real skill and weebs dont gain actual skills
The Numa Numa song blooper was perfect. I was so sure that was intentional.
This is great, great stuff from the original "videosmiths" Mega64
