Would be really cool to earn enough credits to craft quadro...jet? Set individual button to each engine (say, QWAS), add landing pads that will be also extendable clamps, and have some awesome flight!

Or even better setup, with way more convenient handling: make it not "x"-like, but rather "+" like, install 8 jets: 2 on each arm.
      Bind controls as follow:
      . . . . S . . . .
      . . . . * . . . .
      D * . . . . * A
      . . . . * . . . .
      . . . . W . . .
(where * is any suitable key, space, shift or ctrl, or even random "h")
      note, wsad is inverted!
This way by pressing "*" the craft will start propelling, and by pressing WSAD it will tilt forward, backward, leftward, rightward respectively.
To turn, say right, it'll be sequence of tilting D-S-AW (latter is leveling the craft after two-axis tilting).
Aslo easy strafing in any direction, staying afloat by mashing * at certain rate, and cool look as a bonus).
Surely x-shape would be more effective, but i doubt you can effectively operate it _manualy_ by balancing between mashing four buttons at different rates)

bottom should be long enough rotation-type claws (like ones you've used to fix the ball from bottom and top, but quite a bit larger), to be able to grab literally anything. These will also serve as landing pads.

Lesson learnt: Stay away from beach balls with dense material inside, especially on Mars.

Because sometimes you need to repurpose your rover on the fly... or drive as the case may be :P

That was a lot of iterative fun OS+

When I got to this part I rode my vehicle up on a rock to angle the whole rover. And then I blasted the rockets

with the ore lifter I put 2 rockets I put a connecter between the pipes at the back and attacted a rocket there much more stable when forward rocketing

It'd be better to use two pistons for two individual claws to preserve center of mass at the axis of the vehicle disregarding to object's size.
Also would strongly recomend to shift thrusters so they won't cause such heavy inclination.

Why did I think the thumbnail was Terraria Corruption and Crimson but 3D with a Mars Rover

If you have not found out yet, you can change the channel of each part so you can have two pistons extend and retract at the same time 😊
