The Ukraine War was also a business campaign for the military industry. I can only imagine the insane amount of profits those war companies have earned in the past three years. Russia and China are facilitating the global transition towards a *multipolar* world dominated by multiple voices, instead of the *unipolar* world dominated by a single voice (namely that of the US's).
Multipolarism doesn't really work. It will usually end with redistributive wars and it will be ordinary people who get the worst of it. The only two times the world was truly multipolar was in 1914 and 1939. We all know how that went. To change for the better one must acknowledge one's weaknesses. After World War II US have been creating enemies. Much of US resources are used to support regime change in other countries and invading countries. US made money selling weapons to countries around the World. Hence the war related industry grew at the expense of other industries. So much attention and finances were diverted to war mongering effort outside that local needs and developments are being neglected. Whereas in China the opposite happen. In the last 40 years their profits were put to good use to develop the infrastructure of the country. They focus more in developing self sufficiency. Hence they improved trade between countries and were able to support the various important industries and their achievements in a few decades surpassing all expectations. Meanwhile in the US inflation is shrinking the once middle class to poor. People cannot afford to buy US products. They welcome Chinese products which are cheaper.

Since some of the responses in the Comments Section seem to be unaware of who he is, Sachs is the lead author in the study of the Origins of COVID 19 in the British Medical Journal Lancet. He does not shy away from the truth no matter how inconvenient or politically incorrect they are.
To say Ukraine will not join NATO for the next 20 years is not settling well with Russia. Russia will not agree to that proposition. Because it would mean the neocons just have to wait 20 years to execute their plans. Russia is still where it is 20 years from now.

Simple. In geopolitical power-struggles between alliances, border states have two choices: 1)Joining a side, and having a reasonable expectation that any future conflict will be confined to the borders of their territory and that of the adversary. 2) Remaining neutral and having absolute certainty that a future conflict will be fought across the entirety of their territory. This certainty would have been pointed out clearly to the newly independent countries of Central / Eastern Europe by the original NATO countries when their membership of NATO was being solicited. It's what we call a 'Hobson's choice'- i.e.a choice made under duress. Finland and Sweden, being border states, are in exactly the same position.
It's because they continue to live in the post-Soviet Union dissolution era, where they viewed themselves victorious, no longer faced any opposition from an equal power and could do whatever they want. They fail to understand how much the world has changed since then.

Much of US resources are used to support regime change in other countries and invading countries. US made money selling weapons to countries around the World. Hence the war related industry grew at the expense of other industries. So much attention and finances were diverted to war mongering effort outside that local needs and developments are being neglected. Whereas in China the opposite happen. In the last 40 years their profits were put to good use to develop the infrastructure of the country. They focus more in developing self sufficiency. Hence they improved trade between countries and were able to support the various important industries and their achievements in a few decades surpassing all expectations. Meanwhile in the US inflation is shrinking the once middle class to poor. People cannot afford to buy US products. They welcome Chinese products which are cheaper.

Since some of the responses in the Comments Section seem to be unaware of who he is, Sachs is the lead author in the study of the Origins of COVID 19 in the British Medical Journal Lancet. In geopolitical power-struggles between alliances, border states have two choices: 1)Joining a side, and having a reasonable expectation that any future conflict will be confined to the borders of their territory and that of the adversary. 2) Remaining neutral and having absolute certainty that a future conflict will be fought across the entirety of their territory. This certainty would have been pointed out clearly to the newly independent countries of Central / Eastern Europe by the original NATO countries when their membership of NATO was being solicited. It's what we call a 'Hobson's choice'- i.e.a choice made under duress. Finland and Sweden, being border states, are in exactly the same position.

Earlier, U.S. forces dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb on an ISIS tunnel complex in Afghanistan.
"Everybody knows exactly what happened and what I do is I authorize my military. We have the greatest military in the world and they've done their job as usual. So, we have given them total authorization," Trump said after meeting with first responders at the White House on Thursday.
If NATO expansion was the primary cause, why putin didn't invade Finland when they joined recently?
Didn't anybody inform you about the Minsk Accord and what was happening in East Ukraine to ethnic Russian Ukrainians prior? Russia has repeatedly drawn Ukraine as the redline but Nato chose to ignore. That Putin did not invade Finland is proof that Russia has no designs on Europe beyond Ukraine.
There have been Russian naval bases in Crimea since the time of the Russian Empire, and do you think the Russians should have just left there, giving up this place to NATO?)))
And yes, if you still don't know, Finland has never had as many ethnic Russians as Ukraine has. Finland is a foreign country for Russians, and Ukraine has a lot of mixed families and relatives on both sides. So don't confuse business and personal relationships, Russians and Ukrainians have very close ties.
Also what element makes you think that Ukraine was getting into NATO in 2014? There was no discussion for joining NATO after 2008. Unless you count post-2014, which for obvious reasons has relaunched the process.
