you´re a beast Michael! love your videos, i'm learning a ton, there is another cool option in the polygroups tab called group as dynamesh sub, to avoid split the hidden parts and then merged them as a dynamesh sub, anyway thanks for this videos;)!!
+Rodrigo Aguirre Llasera Nice, good call! These videos are a little dated as well, that helmet is getting a long in the tooth; thanks for the bonus technique here, you rock!
Thanks michael, i watched the whole thing. But it still doesnt help me. Ive used dynamesh add before successfully but on this particular case. It doesnt seem to work and it becomes a big mess
WHen I created the first clinders it was ok... then i cloned them with control and it was ok... but when I cloned the cylinders the first two became part of the initial shape and even became part of the subtoll... how do you manage to group the four cylinders???? you say control tap, but I dunno what you mean
+Ricardo Ceron Yeah, watching through it again, the first half is a bit fast and easy to get lost; what I'd do is more toward the second half; insert a cylinder, split it off into its own subtool, ctl-drag out copies as needed, then do a merge-with-subtractive-turned-on in order to remove pieces.
+Ricardo Ceron lots of different ways, but the way I did it here was to draw on a primitive with insert mesh brush, then while it was masked, I went to the Tool menu > subtool menu > split > split unmasked (there's a lot of options here to split objects off). I walk even faster. Slow people are the bane of my existence! I have no idea why ZBrush booleans wouldn't behave as intended for you, assuming you're using the latest zb4r7p3
Yes I got p3.. I don't know why either. I'am forced to remesh and add thickness. I sent a support ticket but they haven't responded for over a week lol
+Jonathan Tan Hmm...might be taking a dump on the close holes operation or something weird. do me a favor and try dynameshing at a lower resolution (in fact, start super low, say 128) and see if that fixes it. worst case scenario, you can always combine, remesh, then project all your detail back. Not ideal, but something at least.
+Michael Pavlovich that worked beautifully... I been trying the whole day just to get the same weird results. I will slowly increase the resolution to a sweet point. Thanks heaps

+Jonathan Tan hmmm...hard for me to say, I'm kind of driving blind. I'd have to see your process in action to see if anything jumped out at me--

Michael Pavlovich Ok... but how do you split the first cylinders into a different subtool?

Michael Pavlovich Oh ok bro... thank you very much
would it be possible to help me dynamesh a2 objects...so far ive been failing with this, for so many hours. its a little complex mesh

hmm i never used booleans in dynamesh cos it never worked for me. All modes just Add :/
PS: you speak really fast lol
