BUDDYMOON DAY 396/1000 (VLOG 111)
In this video, we left Nuwara Eliya where we spent one day with our host to watch his family participate in the Mahagastote Hill Climb Race - a race that only happens once a year. We then headed north to a town called Kandy in Sri Lanka. We have been to Kandy before, but we decided that it will be a good half ways stop before making our way back to Colombo.
Our plan on this trip was to travel along the PBC Highway, try some Sri Lankan food, see some waterfalls and beautiful tea plantations as well climb the Ambuluwawa Tower, which is the scariest tower we have ever climbed!
But before reaching Kandy we had one goal to complete. The goal was to try and give someone a lift, for FREE. Do you think we managed to complete our mission?

Being a Sri Lankan, I get to travel quite a bit, and I have to admit that I might be a bit biased, but honestly, I haven't seen a country as breathtakingly beautiful as ours anywhere else in the world! And the locals here are some of the warmest and friendliest people you'll ever meet. It warms my heart to see you guys enjoying our motherland. By the way, Leanne, I must say, you're doing an awesome job behind the wheel! Please do share your experiences with the world!

On the way from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy, the views from both sides are eye-soothing green plantations.
I liked the way you both enjoyed driving the rented tuk-tuk and found only a passenger who accepted your free lift.

Those mountainous places in Nuwara Eliya and Kandy are so beautifullly. But you have to drive Tuk Tuk carefully, because some Sri Lankan drivers are crazy driving vehicles recklessly. That tower climb was absolutely terrifying! Well I'm afraid of heights too :-) I climbed up to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa when they used to allow people to, and the had no railing on the exterior back then! I was little though so not as scared. I think also if you weren't holding the cameras and grabbing on to the hand holds that might have eased the anxiety just a little...but WOW not much of a railing and a huge fall, like if it were windy?! NOPE!! lol :-)))))))

Very scenic. Hope you had a chance to see Diyaluma Falls which is the 2nd highest, 220 meters tall (it's falling in one straight line, massive fall, not staggered). Tallest is Bambarakanda Falls, which is a 263 meter fall. Enjoy and take care.😊

that's the best waayyyyyy to do a trip guys, have your own tuktuk (auto) and move around... and NO WAY you don't look dodgyyyy but language barier is a big thing and people might feel uncomfortble sitting with people that they can't understand, plus mountain people love walking n treking to maintain themseleves... and 200K ya'll are on the move 🔥🔥🔥
