Hi!! My name is Lyla and im 12 years old. i used to skate about 3 years ago, but i was never a professional at ice skating. Then, i stopped skating. Because of the pandemic, ive decided to get back into skating again! Although, i have definitely forgotten how to ice skate...haha! i am currently taking ice skating lessons so that i can learn how to skate again since i forgot. My ice skating lessons are helping me skate a lot...but, your videos are super helpful also!! With a combination of going to my ice skating lessons and watching your videos, im sure i am going to get so much better, and then ill finally remember how to skate again! So i just want to say thank you, Julia, for helping me remember how to skate. I hope you keep making wonderful videos like this in the future! i hope you can reply!
I love your tutorials and I absolutely love the way you teach and explain things! I am about to get a private coach for my first program, thank you for everything :D
I usually go to classes at my local rink and then I go home, watch and learn from your tutorials and go back to lesson again! I love the way you teach us and appreciate all the tips you give here. I’d love to take your class someday even for like 10 minutes!
Julia, your channel is amazing! Thanks a lot for giving such tutorials with not only single elements, but how to combine them. Can`t wait to try this sequence with Mohawk steps.
So fun! Cant wait to try this. I've seen competitions where they do this so fast that I couldn't tell they were doing mohawks! Thanks for breaking it down. Love it!
@@CoachJulia Hi Coach Julia, Wow thanks for reply. I'm skating better for sure than a year ago. FW on Lt outside edge, BW on Rt OE (Best part), set out FW on Lt IE (inside edge), to RT FW IE. Thanks Coach!
Your lessons and tutorials are valuable to me. If you haven’t done so already, I would like to see lessons on rockers (which I am currently struggling with).
i've been working on the first one with my coach for a bit but the part where you switch the arms just didn't click for me but seeing you do it and explain it was so helpful and i think i got it down in my head now so i'll try this at the rink this weekend. thank you so much! 💖💖
Oh I am so glad that my videos could help back-up your coach's teaching. Sometimes you just need it said or explained a little differently for it to click.
I use your Mohawk X-step routinely, momentum is slowed by the inside leg (you seem to flip it inward) but I have to brake/slid to change direction otherwise I gain too much speed, This is over two years old and I us it all the time. I'd like you to redo alot of your nice tricks, Thank you Coach Julia
This last step is not a true outside Mohawk yet. But a true open/close outside Mohawk is quite difficult. And this sequence is great fun and suitable for beginners. Thanks
I've just realized this! I've been working on these for a while, also with the help of this video, and they're still not quite right. The weight change doesn't go so well. I hope they improve if I focus on the outside edges.
Hi there coach can you please kindly do a beginner warm up for beginners on ice. And also how to break in your new boots for beginners. Thank you I’m advance
Love the videos! I’m joining a beginners course at our local skate rink. Where do you get your skate tights if I may ask? And what skates would you recommend for this? I know how to skate on the ice, but I’m hoping to learn how to skate backwards and learn a couple new techniques so I would like a quality pair of skates :)
That’s wonderful! I am always looking for some Mohawk exercises to practice, what a great timing! When doing the second Mohawk exercise, the free leg does not need to come close to the instep of the other skating leg?
If you are doing it slowly, you can do a nice tidy 'closed' mohawk, but with more speed, it is much easier to do it with an 'open' mohawk. Both are considered proper mohawks, just used in different ways.
I’ve make it in one time and I’m not Ice-Skater, I will learn how to ice-dance and my strength is because of classic dance. I was 4 when I begun and so, pending 15 years after it, I was a studend to be an attorney but now I want to live with ice-dance . I have my own logical, and I have no coach , just my Julia and because of her, I learn so much things and I don’t need yo to do all this mouvements just because I’ve learned to march as Hokey men and I just have to put up on front my leg . And after, I make Mohawks
Here's an honest question. At 6:16 you do the "Mohawk cross step" at speed all the way down the ice. I hear a lot of scraping noises while you are doing that. Is that your toe picks scraping and making all that noise?

Ah thanks. Going from California to CT soon. Hoping for rink info. Julia's amazing!! Incredible coach 👏🏼
@@tankmode6296 I’m also practicing it soon! I love the forest hill rink !
Thank you Coach Julia for this tutorial! I hope you appear on skaters and non-skaters TH-cam algorithms, so we can all watch and learn from you!
I hope so too!

Thank you so much! I have been working on similar step sequences like: 2 stokes 2shasa Mohawk pump back crossover step forward 1 more shasa
So fun! Cant wait to try this. I've seen competitions where they do this so fast that I couldn't tell they were doing mohawks! Thanks for breaking it down. Love it!
Have fun! Glad you enjoyed the Video!
This is great! I love these footwork sequence tutorials. Thank you Julia!
Glad you like them!
Coolest Barrel Roll Coach, Backward Outside Edge, so much fun, thanks again
Glad you had fun! I imagine a year on- you are pretty good at these by now!

I’m a beginner. This is awesome! I’ll be working on this footwork this week. Thank goodness 🤩
So glad you enjoyed it
I learn by sight (I'm very hands-on) and never knew this move was called the Mohawk! Thank you Coach Julia, your tutorials are concise and effective!
Glad it was helpful!
If you are any length at all in your skating career and don't know what Mohawks are you seriously need new coaches.
Your lessons and tutorials are valuable to me. If you haven’t done so already, I would like to see lessons on rockers (which I am currently struggling with).
I really love these footwork exercises. They are so helpful in my focussed s on my technique. Easily my favorite skating videos ever.
You are so good in teaching... it helps me a lot to practice 'cause I love skating... thak you very much, Julia!
You're so welcome!
Thank you some much! What you teach is precious for beginners !
Glad to hear that!
Hi coach Julia, I am very happy because today I coudl do the crossover !!!! I just did follow yours advices and finally I could do it.

Glad it was helpful!
I love the mohawk cross steps
I just learned c steps today so I am excited to try these! especially the last two!

Love your videos inspired me to go back to basic lessons in the fall. I'm going back to the rink daily to practice for now.v
Thats awesome!

You are welcome!

Would you be able to do a video on the 8-step mohawk sequence (the one one adult silver test?)
Lots of great information. Teach them how to fall correctly to reduce accidents and injuries. Regards
Спасибо ❤
Thank you so much coach Julia you have helped me a lot 🥰!!
I'm so glad!
Thanks for the exercises! In the cross stop one, is that an outside c-step?
Yes it is! Good eye.

LMAOOOO my coach tried teaching me this today but i wasnt getting it and she was clearly so done 💀💀💀
😆 Oh boy. Lol. Maybe you can work on it and surprise her.

You are welcome!
One day I will learn how to do it.
Just keep practicing!
Wowww☺🤗thank forma the video 👧💖💌
You’re welcome 😊
I just love this and I love (mohawks) c-turns
I am glad you like it! The second one can be done with either inside or outside mohawks, it really depends on the skater's hip flexibility.
I’ve make it in one time and I’m not Ice-Skater, I will learn how to ice-dance and my strength is because of classic dance. I was 4 when I begun and so, pending 15 years after it, I was a studend to be an attorney but now I want to live with ice-dance .

Hi Julia,
May you teach me dance steps more than when you invited the woman who kows ice-dacing . I thank you for it.
