I've seen many live performances in my life. Level 42 was the best. I saw them live in the early 90s, in Hereford leisure centre in the UK a small venue compared to many they played. It felt intimate and the sound was fantastic. When he played his bass rift at speed i was exhausted just listening. The very best live concert I'd ever been to. I still enjoy listening to their music on vinyl 30+ years later.
An old friend saw them once in the 1990s and said he found them disappointing, never had the chance to see them live myself, I will have to make the effort while I still can.
First class. I haven't seen Marc play the white Jaydee yet. Just because of him I also have a Supernatural, but in classic red. Nice to see he's still enjoy playing. -- Thank you very much! Always great! 👌
I have been enamoured with Mark King bass playing and Level 42 since I first heard The Chinese Way back in the day. He and they still keep me wanting more.
Um, he generally plays it very much the same. Such is the nature of pop music. Grated this has a different intro and even a shittier tone that he usually achieves....
@@tenthletter2678I don't agree. I listen Mark since 40 years and I play bass also since 40 years. So much details and little things in his game are so different, never the same accent (bass), new riff. Maybe everyone can't ear that, it's not important ... Anyway, it's only my opinion.

Superb musician and very talented man. I just wish that the music didn't sound quite so like the incidental music from Bergerac or any other mid 80s British TV show. Having said that; would I be happy with half of his talent? A quarter would do. Where's me Triumph Roadster?
Very unique, still an Idol of all bass players. But don’t compare his technique to today’s bass players, it would not be fair. Bass playing is probably one of the most evolved techniques, look only at Mohini Dey and you know what I mean.
Fair point, absolutely. So much of the modern stuff leaves me completely cold, though. Charles Berthoud, for example. Clearly technically brilliant, but I'd rather listen to paint dry. This stuff just has so much more life to it.
