- First start up and as has been as the way through with this project... not straight forward!
I got this bike partially assembled with some bits missing and other bits completely wrong, like the RD250 rear wheel & GT185? front wheel/forks! the carbs were not attached and only half a wiring loom plus other parts were in a box....
Yes I broke the golden rule... never buy a bitsa!
Not sure how long this has stood but I'm guessing it's been a few years since it last ran.
Quel plaisir de faire rugir cette belle mécanique ! J'ai connu ce bonheur avec une 250 après 50 ans de sommeil 💤 l'année passée.
Bravo et profitez-en bien 👌
Always found the old air cooled 2 strokes to be temperamental starting especially hot but cold also I had an old ke100 78 and that was a swine to get going again.
love it 🙂

Nice job! Nothing like a first start up. How is part availability, I’ve heard Suzuki is pretty good. I’ve just finished a Honda VF750 that hadn’t been on the road for 15 yrs. I’ve got my eye on a GT for another project and as you describe it’s a bitsa, risky I know but it looks mostly there. The amount of chrome there’s acres on these bikes, yours looks great. Thanks for posting.
Hi, Honda VF750.. classic!
Suzuki GT parts availability is pretty good, I mostly used Ebay, www.suzytwo.co.uk, ww.suzukiparts.co.uk, www.pjme.co.uk.
Good Luck!

Are the baffles missing ?
Yes, one baffle is missing... my other video th-cam.com/video/ZUR8lqXykDw/w-d-xo.html shows how I made one from scrap.
Running on two sounded like
