When I take endless in this game I usually end up failing in 2 or 3 payments because of how high it scales so quickly. So it’s actually a challenge.

@@jacobbeckwith106 I managed to get up to 3500 payment with a Suits build. Didn't even get a single Joker just the guy that turns suits into Wildcards. With a Joker I imagine the build can get much farther, had some 600-700 gold spins.
@@TheSpectralgaming I actually managed to go functionally infinite yesterday. The highest numbers I saw were over 50,000 per cat tile.
lol his dismissal of endless mode is hilarious here, because with the current state of the game, it's just... more. there's no real difference between how the game works pre- and post-endless mode. i always go to endless mode if i get to that point in this game, because it's interesting to see just how far i can get with the "deck."
It's almost the opposite of his issue because Endless instantly switches to a much higher rent increase, so it's actually a great way to inject some challenge back in if a run easily beats the main part.

Yeah he needs to actually try it before he writes it off. Its the only endless mode i find enjoyable because its not really endless, you're guaranteed a loss eventually
Endless is MUCH more challenging so to be beginner friendly I think it’s much better than the easy game

This man didn't take oyster or any pearls when he had the archeologist not to mention the item that doubles item production. I doubt he realized they destroy pearls
@@TheThursty100 He also skipped an urn and a big urn despite having both black pepper and grave robber... the urns would destroy themselves and then spirits would destroy themselves...
I like endless mode at the end of the run after you win just to see how far you can push. This game's endless isn't as he described, you are guaranteed to fail eventually.

Yah I've been trying to see how far I can push my runs. Caps out at Increasing by 500 for each wave of endless. Currently have a suits/joker/cardshark run with 3.1m in the bank and only 15000 rent. Sometimes hit 100k+ on a single spin. It will take 6.3k payment cycles just to deplete what I currently have in the bank
Rent is now up to 15500 and have 4.7m in the bank. They should do exponential rent scaling at some point of endless. Or something like Isaac where you lose items after enough reruns
Not always. Some synergies can get hundreds of thousands of gold a spin, you can rank up to millions of gold. It is possible to outscale the game infinitely but it requires a really powerful synergy

Somehow I don't think he doesn't realize that. But endless is also pointless. This game already struggles to have the gameplay loop stay relevant for 12 rounds. What are more rounds going to add, besides the inability to win, ever?
@@michaelleue7594 The only fun part I see out of Endless mode is to see just how insane a combo could go. I totally understand his stance of just doing the normal mode

What I think this game needs is a more adversarial mode where you get "encounters" that add negative symbols to your deck, which you then need to counteract with the symbols you pick
That's a really good idea. Would add much more depth and forethought.

I died so hard when he skipped the archeologist for the hex of destruction when he was trying to destroy pearls. When he later talked about choosing not to take it just added salt to the wound.

One piece of advice I'd give the developer is that when you get more than 8 different levels of coins in a spin, the pitch should keep going up past an octave. Gimme that aural dopamine

14:25 I've read that burn-in actually happens _faster_ on modern monitors, but also fades just as quickly, rather than being permanent as it was on CRTs. (So for example, if someone had gone on vacation for a week and left their computer idle with the monitor on, the image that had been on the screen will be burned-in for another week.)

for future reference, the best way to cleanse yourself of all those pearls is an archeologist, he destroys pearls and shiny rocks as well as ore, diver also works, but also destroys the oyster so stops the pearls from coming

Archeologist + Oyster farm >>>>> Diver + Anything he can get. Diver kills his own economy. Archeologist gets resupplied. Oyster pearls are even better than ores, because at some point you don't want any ores, the archeologist can't eat.

Maybe they could add a feature like 1000000 where you slowly progress further into the story as you unlock new items each run. I really think this game has a great idea behind it

If none of the safes open, you'll have 229, after buying the hustling capsule, you'll have 223, but you forgot to take into account the three spins that the pool ball grants, so the hustling capsule doesn't even have to show up for one turn and you'll still have enough money to pay rent.
