Well it gives 0 coins for 20 rounds, if he skips coal then he gets 0 coins only for 1 round.

@@straattman coal doesn’t pay out, if he takes it or not it doesn’t matter he’ll still get 0 gold.
@@XxXasparXxX nothing gives him 0 good for the rest of the run, coal will start paying out with 5 per turn eventually
@@eewweeppkk true, but he wanted instant payouts, that’s why he said he can’t afford a coal. He didn’t want to wait until it turned into a diamond, because they were playing for speed and Ryan wanted to be safe. At least that’s how I interpreted it.
People keep telling him he plays too wide, then he just goes and plays even wider. Gotta love this man.

@@Orillion123456 he does take thieves tho, every single time throughout the series he has had banana peels he has said out loud that he should look for thieves and has taken them accordingly. So if you’re gonna harp on this guy for pointing out that thieves aren’t great and then tell him his answer is not appropriate, here’s an appropriate answer for you: he does take thieves, he has on many occasions throughout the series so far, you’re wrong.

@@DanTodd_ Is there a single good use for eggs other than egg carton? Filling your board with omelettes, the payoff for the skillet, doesn't even help you win, it helps you lose midway through

The potential of this game continues to grow
The competition idea is really fun. But chat is right, you're consistently going for way too many synergies at once. Instead of 7 lines in the water, try two or maybe three. I hope you keep playing this game though, it's super fun to watch!

The number is big but he is not great without synergies. Like golden egg or rare gems but with fewer symbol synergies and less consistent.
When is someone going to tell NL that's it's okay to pick up rares that give a flat 3 gold even without synergy? Same goes for uncommons early on, I think NL is struggling cause he skips too much in the early game when a consistent 2-3 per spin is not bad by any means.

Yes he skips far far too much, especially early. It's a normal roguelite strategy that you must get the basics down just to survive. It will make your deck worse (bad symbols) but if you don't take them you lose.
@@Jomppexx losing early is fine though. It's much better to die early than it is to barely keep yourself alive for 15 minutes and then die on the final round because you filled your deck with junk.
@@NihongoWakannai Depends what you're going for. In this competition case yeah it's best to just lose quick and start another run hoping for an insane start. If you're just aiming for a high winrate it's different though.
Only 3 minutes in but NL sounds like a proper auctioneer going 200 wpm.
Thieves and monkeys could work together, cause the monkeys can eat bananas, and the peels can destroy the thieves
It would not work long term however due to the fact that peels are not destroyed with the thieves, which would horridly dilute the deck. THat is why banana's in the current meta is the worst food in the game.

@@noxus7462 It does? I tested it recently and the peel was not destroyed. Unless in the newer updates since when I last played it got changed?
@@catmaster42 They still get destroyed with the thief. But there are some weird glitches that happen often with some destruction and adding of symbols.

A Mario 35 style Official VS Mode would be a huge win for this game.
Also, if the player could choose which column to install symbols into, and they didn't switch between turns, it would create a new game mode with the missing strategy element.

What's the reason NL detests bears?
I haven't played it, but just from nl's vids it seems like bears only benefit when you get honey (which seems to be very rare from the videos). Other than that it is just a generic animal that works with beastmaster, but there are better animals.

Animation time
Enelle prefers to see *consistent* positive payouts and has a negative biased tilt-factor when operating with variables. See also: thieves, crow, cats to an extent due to needing lucky cat to bounce

Also, in this particular run type, their animation time to payout ratio is cursed as far as he is concerned. Even when they payout, they don't feel as impactful as the 'tribal' synergies, because the whole board lights up with fruits/suits/ores/etc vs an arrow turning to point outside the board half the time.
As he develops a negative bias from negative outcomes, taking board size and trying to outmetagame the variance turns into a non-starter, i didn't see the chat, but I'm sure they don't help when the tilt starts. Only way to right a tilt is to force yourself to take a step back, but chat's going to egg him on while tilted to 'not waste time', reinforcing a negative feedback loop.
It seems not that good
The arrows in general are bad. Bronze arrow is just garbage. The odds of pointing at 3 or more symbols are slim and pointing at only 2 symbols makes taking it very dubious. Very often the arrows point at nothing and you effectively lose money as the square is taken by a symbol that gives 0 instead of at least 1.
@@Jomppexx Silver and gold arrow are really good, quiver is game winning please dont blanket shit on arrows like that.

I think NL heavily underestimates rusty gear, that thing is broken with multiple same ones.

@@dylanb2990 the highest payout adjecent next to it even. I don't know how that come to be either.
Well thinking about it, the card shark made the diamonds a wildcard, resulting in a really high base value, the red suit items and the joker then applied their multiplication to that extremly high base value.
I figured it out.
The heart values one, with three adjecent suits it values four. Red suits * 2 = 8 joker *3 = 24
The card shark turned the diamonds into a wildcard making it the value of the diamonds to 24, because of the heart . The ❤️ also means it gets +1 = 25
Red suits doubled it to 50.
Joker tripled it to 150
