Took me a cumulative 80 hours to build mine I guess? It was trial and error on my part. I built the leg stilts out of scrap wood I had in my garage and some old shoes. The arms were originally a wood structure but I replaced them this year with $5 crutches which I modified at the bottom to add an extra 2 feet of pipe lengths. Spent another $10 on rubber furniture footings to go on all legs... uhhh. Mask was like $5 at hobby lobby. Bought probably $30 worth of fake black leaves. I don't know about price since I was super frugal with it, but I'd guess I spent under $100 on the entire thing.
Pretty late but I made one for around 150-200$ and it took 10 weeks, although most of the time was waiting to have money to do the next step 😅 start to finish it would take 3 weeks or so if you had all the funds at the start, you can see my costume on my page
Nope! Luckily I haven't fallen! I was able to walk right away but the first draft of the costume was pretty cumbersome and risky since the front legs were made of wood for the structure. I later replaced the front legs with aluminum crutches I got from Goodwill for like $5, then added an extended pipe piece to get another 2 feet of height.
I got some black fabric from a local second hand store! It was basically a big black bed sheet, which I laid under each leg/arm and cut an appropriate piece to wrape/cover them. I ended up running out so I had to tear up some black pillow covers as well.
Yeah, the first year the skin of the suit was trash bag material. Not sure why, but it made a few kids cry and I definitely felt bad! The second year less cried, and by the third year I learned to stay still or back off from any kids I thought it might scare too bad.
I love the costume, and how you decide to not scare the young ones. Halloween is something to be enjoyed, not scared by until you can’t breathe
This is epic!
Thanks so much! I wish it were a bit more mobile but it's a lot of fun to wear.
This is so cool, I was also one and scared people too, but I hid in the woods and chased after them.
Damn
LOL you gotta do it again and post it
So you built it yourself??? Considering this isn't a costume you can buy.
Man I really want one of these. How much money, and how long does it usually take to make these?
