    Great video. I’ve flown a Huey, OH58/JetRanger, R44 & 66, Bell 407, and AH-64A. Next on my list to fly is the 480B. I’d really like to see you talk about the flight characteristics and talk through some maneuvers.

      Thank you! - the 480B is a great machine. I would love to do this! my next video will be a flying one, so hopefully I can cover some of this then!

    Impressed... Liked the walk around check, so clean in that engine bay. As a mechanically minded person I loved the triple screen part showing whats going on when it all starts. You did a good job there Katherine.... 👍

      @@moloneykatherine2052 Ha ha - yeah that would be cool. I'd love you to explain how that mast / head arrangement works on the Enstrom. It certainly looks different to mist helicopters. Maybe one for a future video?

    • @moloneykatherine2052
      @moloneykatherine2052  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure! that's a great idea! 😁 - I'll have to do some acrobatics to get up to the rotor head though! (although that could make for some funny outtakes! haha)

      @@RoryOnAir There are actually steps built into the heli, which is pretty cool- it lets you to get right up to the top of the rotor head:)

    I really enjoyed the walk-around and start-up. I fly mostly Robinsons, but I think that the Enstrom is a great ship, and I was so glad to find this video and learn more about the aircraft. Fly safe!

      @@moloneykatherine2052 I've heard that there are planipetal weights on the tail rotor assembly which allow for certain power setting / cruise speed configurations where you can essentially fly without your feet on the pedals. The pitch angle of the blades remain relative constant to the last position without the pedals trying to return to a neutral position. Have you observed this ? I believe this is a unique feature from Enstrom tail rotor, yaw stability without the use of an SAS autopilot. It would be cool to see that in the next video, if you're looking for another unique 480 subject to review. Thanks again.

    • @moloneykatherine2052
      @moloneykatherine2052  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your comment! this is a really interesting point. I have actually done circuits in the Enstrom fully without pedals. You can remain pretty straight until the transition into hover. You can then cut the throttle to idle and the reverse torque reaction created essentially lands you straight.
      I have condensed it down, but that is essentially it. I have actually just filmed this and plan to have it in my next video! but thank you for asking as its a great question! the Enstrom is a very cool machine!

    Very nice first video! I’m used to large high bypass dual spool engines, both the N1 and TOT are quick to rise compared to the PW4158! Our limit is 535C on the ground for start and 650C in the air and we have two minutes to either be stabilized at idle or abort the start. Looking forward to your next video.

    • @moloneykatherine2052
      @moloneykatherine2052  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for your comment, that is really interesting! - the TOT on the heli does rise extremely quickly and our temperature limit is a lot lower! I can't imagine being able to start at 535C! how cool! :) - thank you so much for your feedback and support 🙌🏼
