I brought this up to my local GameStop the looks on there faces scared me. then they say it's not true . few weeks later I went back all different people but one guy .
I had the random walking out the door happen to me years ago (2010) at US Hellular err Cellular. There was a large amount of long time associates led out the door at that time. Also 3-4 times a week emails came out about someone in management quitting. So I came in to work as usual and was greeted by a gaggle of managers. I was pulled into a meeting and told I uploaded something to the internet. What was uploaded, where it was uploaded to and when was never told to me. I had another meeting after an "investigation" and I got canned. I received a letter via Fed-Ex a few days later from the Chicago Corporate Lawyers. The letter stated they are deciding to proceed with charges for violating my NDA. Well guess what? - A) I NEVER actually sign any NDA. I may scribble something but I will never agree to those and it's never my signature and B) either they were full of crap or realized the signatures weren't the same and let it go. Morale of the story - US Cellular is just another terrible company. What out for yourself always.
Unfortunately the people in charge never suffer from the company going under. Only the office and store workers do. They'll Get their multi million dollar comp packages and fly away on a golden parachute
I dont ever want to hear someone say "Im just one person, I cant do anything". Look at this man tearing down a big ass company. Hes not alone now but he did start alone. Keep it up my dude
If you sign a document under duress without the option to go over what you are signing for with legal counsel, and you already work for the company under a previously agreed contract, the new contract is not legally binding per case law. I can't remember the case exactly but no company can force you to follow new terms without a chance to negotiate.
Actually unless you had entire stores quit then it would only impact the store managers and assistant managers as they would have to fill all of those hours themselves. I personally like the folks at my local Gamestop and wouldn’t wish that on them. I’m sure some stores are staffed with stank faces though.
I went up to a GameStop store manager and ask about this camelot thing and they kicked me out! I laughed as I walked out the door and said "you're fired bro"
I have emailed corporate GS a couple times over the years about issues Ive had with their company. I never cursed or called anyone names, but they never responded to my concerns. Needless to say I have not been back to GS in a long time. I hope the company goes under immediately.
The fear is setting in. This is how much power people truly have. The pressure of honest communication on GameStop is finally coming to a head and their true personality is finally manifesting. Thanks for continuing to press where it hurts!
@@charles616 crazy things have occurred at places I have worked as well. I would say that story sounds a bit ridiculous... If I haven't seen down right absurdities at jobs personally.
I spent maybe 6 years in gamestop never moved passed SGA. After about year 3 or 4 I was told by a former manager that I should watch my back because they trying to fire me because I was makin too much money and wasnt moving up (wasnt even making 10 dollars) I Expressed wanting to move up with every manager I had and every opportunity that came up was told I'm not ready when I'm 100% ready. My last year there I was accused of stealing twice but with no proof of actually stealing it became a very toxic working environment so when the day came I got fired I was so happy
You weren't even making $10 an hour yet that was considered too much money? What was your starting rate like $7 an hour? What kind of greedy company is GameStop?
They behave like a capitalist company, but they are sloppy because everyone has caught on to their shitty business practice before they were able to execute their plan.
@@charles616 Hmmm a full grown adult taking it upon themselves to reply to most every anti-Gamestop comment on this video, but they don't work for Gamestop or have any interest it? No, that is simply unlikely given how much effort you've put into this. It is much more likely that you have a vested interest in Gamestop, and are likely on their payroll.
@@CreamyGoodness It is much more likely that you are 100% incorrect. But, by all means keep on working under that assumption... I'll make it clear as day, I have no issue with him exposing the company by telling "his" story, where I draw the line and take great exception is where the line gets blurry and things become a little too soap opera to be believable. Do I believe that some of these things could have happened? Sure, but to believe that the Hector incident and the stuff with 16 y/o girl happened in the same circle of colleagues with one guy in the middle is a little convenient. And that Gamestop is going out of their way to ruin this guy and his friends, again, too convenient. He hopped on a trend to get some notoriety, and when the view counts started going down, he injected these increasingly unbelievable stories to bump his subs/views. And it is working. Verify things, check facts, don't accept what is being fed to you as truth and then report. This is all too tabloid to be happening to one guy.
On us giving companies a 2 week notice vs them firing normal people without notice. I do not give my employer notice if I'm going to leave because they will not give me notice if I am being fired.
When I worked for Wal-Mart I was going to give them a 2 week notice but my colleagues told me they would tell me to leave as soon as I give the notice, so I didn't give them a notice at all. To hell with the BS, we are more important than a big business.
Don't f#$% with gamestop! I brought your name up in a meeting. A few minutes later I got up to go to the bathroom, I vaguely remember passing the water fountain by the elevator; The next thing I know I wake up two states away at a gathering of the Juggalos wearing nothing but my boxer briefs, white socks and sandels with a lolly pop in my mouth and a termination notice tucked in my waste band.
Hey man I literally just got banned from Gamestop as a customer. Seriously just got home from this happening. I have been watching and been a subscriber of your channel for quite a while now and watched almost all your Gamestop and Amazon videos long before it got to this point of them taking action against your channel. I just turned 38 and have ALWAYS ONLY gone to Gamestop/EB Games since the late 90s early 2000s if I’m looking for a specific game and I cant find anywhere else. (Until today anyways😒) Since they are usually a tad higher in price and trade in values are generally lower than most local small business game stores I “did” go there as a last resort.😕 However I do give them credit for often having a larger selection of games for current generation condoles. Anyhow Today I was @ one in Jacksonville Florida which is where i live looking for a Nintendo Switch game. Now often times a casual customer, non regular “gamer” or someone shopping for a relative persay will often ask another customer questions about games in the store and not a employee because they feel they will get a honest opinion about a game from them and won’t from someone trying to make a sale. So today a lady (Won’t use her name for her privacy) asked me about a game for the Xbox 1 (Borderlands 3) and asked if it would be cheaper at a smaller locally owned store instead of a corporate one like Gamestop. I said “Well most likely but not always. It may be hard to come by elsewhere though.” Then she made the comment “Yeah I didn’t think of that.🤔 I only ask because my grandson says You can never truly trust stores like this to be honest about their games and how good they are since they are probably just after commission or sales numbers......You know what I mean?”🤨 So I replied “ Well it can be coin flip sometimes depending on the person working that you ask. Not all are just about the company but actually act like real people. Then again some of them are just trying to make employee of the month.🤔 You know if you want to the truth about this company you should watch this channel that I do named Camelot331 on TH-cam. He worked at one for decade or longer I believe and is pretty honest about the good bad and ugly about Gamestop. Not to mention he talks to many people who have been or are still currently employed here.” That was it as far as discussing Gamestop. She then asked a few questions about whether or not i play alot or my kids do and that sort of thing. Well while that was goin on the employee behind the counter must of overheard me mention your channel because he went into the managers office and after about a minute those two came out and she said something to the other employee who was putting up game cases on the PS4 shelves and all 3 of them walked over to us in the Nintendo section and without even an “excuse me” or anything just interrupted us and said to the lady I was talking to (without even looking at me) “ Did this guy tell you to watch a certain TH-cam station?” ( Like you truly are Voldemort or something. Just like you said in your last video and she didn’t/wouldn’t say your channel name the whole time this next part went on🤫🤯 plus from here on it was your “station” and not “channel” for some reason) The other customer said “ um yeah why? ”She then asked “ do you remember the stations name?” The lady replied “A..not really it was something that made me think of Merlin and Arthur and his knights” at which point I interrupted and said “Yeah I told her there was channel talking about some of the things this company is accused of doing on TH-cam by a man called Camelot” The other customer then said “Yeah thats it!!”( I was kind of insulted the manager didn’t just ask me and was kind of talking to the other customer like I wasn’t there so I interjected) The manager then turned toward me and told me “ You need to leave the store immediately and you are no longer allowed to shop at this location or any other....ever. We don’t appreciate, condone, discuss or even recognize the existence of any station with such such rumors and are told to escort ANYONE off our companies property that talks about, mentions or associates with any rumor spreading station especially that station now leave!!!” I reactively actually laughed😄 and said “seriously?” in which she replied “Its not up for discussion and I’ll ask you one more time to leave the store for spreading false rumors that negatively influence all our other customers, disrespecting our business while upsetting customers and causing a major disturbance to other shoppers in our store. If you refuse to leave right now I will call the police and have u arrested for trespassing and forcefully removed.... Oh yeah actually I need your ID first then we will escort you off the property” In response to that I put the case in my hand back on the Switch shelf and said “ I will gladly leave right now but I have done nothing to deserve being kicked out of here. I haven’t spread any rumors or even said anything about this store except your prices but whatever I’m happily leaving and you can call the cops if you want but you have no right or authority mind you to take my ID anywhere for any reason. Like I said Im gladly leaving.” Then the lady i was talking to just straight up dropped the 3 game cases i think it was in her hands right on the floor and said “ Well I’m definitely going to look those videos up now” which the manager says “Okay you are now banned too since u want to join in on the rumors” Like we are her kids or something. Anyway we both walked out with all 3 of the employees in the store walking right behind us. Surprisingly she didn’t argue about the ID and only said once we got to the door “The parking lot is the property line so don’t stop in front of the store!” Once in the parking lot the lady and I exchanged info in case something happened to occur later and she made sure to look up your channel before we parted ways. So apparently its not just employees who can’t mention your channel anymore but customers too can’t either without being removed from the premises.🥴 I don’t know if she called the cops or not it takes hours here to get one for that sort thing anyway. I actually felt bad for the guy stocking the shelves because unlike the manager and other employee who looked like they were very proud to do this. The look on his face was kinda sad and you could see him grit his teeth when he looked at the other two. He even mouthed saying sorry when they turned around. I could see from their side if I went in there and just started telling people “Have you heard what they do to people here?” or even questioned them about it but this wasn’t like that. It came up in conversation for all of 10 seconds with another “former” customer and we didn’t he actually discuss it or keep it as part of the conversation. I simply just said it while answering a question and it wasn’t even the focal point. Not to mention we were the only customers at the time in the store so there wasn’t anyone else there to “cause a major disturbance or falsely and negatively influence.” I Still cant believe this really happened.
Haha went to gamestop the other day for a controller and they were treating everyone in there like they were dumb and didnt know what was best for themselves. Cashier literally asked the man the same question 3 times after he said no the first time. She's like are you sure you dont want insurance on that disk? "No, I take good care of my games" ok but let's say you fall asleep and knock a drink on it. "No I wouldn't do that and I dont need it" ok well do you have a power rewards card with us? "NO" What's wrong with you? Why not? Would you like to sign up today? "No" ok well have a good day. I was like "this is why yall going out of business. Checking out takes 10 mins"
I worked at a big box store that was like that 10 years ago. Sales under constant pressure, not to make enough 0.5% commissions to get paid above minimum wage, but pushing all the store cards and warranties. The store manager said that poaching sales from other associates was good and if you got poached that meant you were bad at sales and shouldn't work there. They fired anyone any month that didn't make card/warranty quota even if it as someone solid who was there for years who just had a bad month, and even if everyone made it still fired the bottom 10% every month anyway.
I always get asked and I feel like they think I’m dumb when I say no I’m careful with games. Next time they ask “are you sure you are careful? I’ll just say, “are you sure you guys will be around long enough for me to actually damage my games when I have never done it before?”
I wasn't hired one time, in my follow-up interview, I was told the only problem is there could not locate any social media presence linked to me and that was a "red flag." I responded pretty much that a company staling people on social media was a "red flag" to me and walked out. Ii wasn't trying to grand stand on morals or anything, but I could read the writing on the wall there and chose not to sit there until he tried to apply some weird logic to that reasoning and ultimately didn't get the job anyway. I'm sure he will use this story in the future how "some crazy person stormed out because he was questioned about his nefarious online activities," laughing as they chip future employee's necks.
@@Tristin471 I take that back, I remembered I do have a FB page. Back in 2007, I had an employer that "suggested" I needed a FB page. As it was a pretty good job (decent hours, good working conditions, great pay, etc.), I did as they "asked". I went to FB, joined and created my page... this is what it says: "My employer suggested I created a FaceBook page, here it is." Sure enough, a couple of days later they "commented" on it, but I pointed out that I did do as they asked. "What exactly is the problem?", I asked the HR robot. In the end, HR had to concede that I did do as they "suggested" and their "suggestion" did not specify what content the FB page had to include/contain. It was a bitter pill for them to swallow... I loved it! It's still there, and hasn't changed since that day.

I'm thinking about seeing how far I can troll them. Gonna start by wearing King Arthur based stuff, then step up to something with Camelot on it while browsing at a store.
3 years in the future.... HM: And you were an intern at Gamestop? What work did that entail? Former Intern: Well I had to go to Camelot's videos and say he was lying, and other things..

I swear I’ve subbed to you like 3 times already. GameStop is trying to sabotage. Dude I generally love your personality. You could upload videos nightly just talking about your day and I’d watch them all.
GameStop is terrible, about a year ago I was emailed a promo for a sale for Shadow of War plus a promotion on the receipt that includes some dlc for free with the game purchase. I went to two different GameStop’s only to be told that they dont honor the emailed promotion. It was even in the flyer for each of those stores. I ended up calling a third gamestop that would honor the promo. I thought it would be over but not quite yet. When I arrived to buy the game the associate tried for a while to convince me that I needed to buy the protection plan which I didn’t finally he tried repeatedly to convince me to upgrade to the limited edition version of the game thats not on sale so I can get the DLC. The very same DLC thats free due to the promotion with the purchase of the on sale standard edition of the game. When I told him that he said “yeah but if you buy the one thats not on sale you can support the game developer by paying full price for the game... I asked myself why the hell am I going through this stupid debate. I want this and here’s my money.
No it was just one diehard intern named "charles616" who made 100 accounts just to constantly spam Camelot's channel. He seems to have a hard on for him 😂
Oh damn...you speak so much truth. Big corporate companies expect you to give them 2 weeks notice if you leave their company and take it personal if you don't, but if they fire a bunch of people without warning, it's 'just business'. Such bullshit. That's corporate America I guess...

You are right to be skeptical about the non-disclosure agreements. If you are threatening to fire someone if they dont sign it is would be considered 'under duress' and would not hold much weight in court. For the NDA to be enforceable there must be consideration involved. For example if you sign the NDA you get this where this must be more than you are already getting.
I pretty sure that gamestop, threatening to fire staff that watch your videos is in violation of human rights, and labour laws. PS: any ndas they print off, would not stand in a court of. It sounds to me that theyre banking on their staff being either ignorant of labour laws, or just afraid for their jobs. Either one of which being scummy AF. Keep up the good work, comrade Camelot331. Keep on being the mouthpiece for honest workers getting taken advantage of...
When I hired new associates there was always a part that asked for email and I would stop them and ask, is that email attached to any social media accounts? If the answer was yes I would tell them not to put it down because they would monitor your activity, then tell them how I had an associate that had to talk to HR and nearly got me fired because three years prior he said he hated his manager among other things. It wasn't even me he was talking about! And to NOT put where you work on social media as well. They would track your stuff and it could lead you to get fired I always heard the "they can't fire me for what I do or say outside of work when I'm clocked out and I would laugh and laugh and tell them how a manager got fired because of things he posted on Facebook.
They can go on and look at your Facebook Instagram and stuff like that I had a buddy get fired from Walmart for posting a thing about most the managers being a@#holes
The 'giving notice' thing has always bothered me too. They pretend like it's a balanced system. But if you're an employee and you give no notice, that will make it harder to get future jobs... but if the company gives no notice, will it be harder for them to hire people? Nope. Employees don't have the same level of ability to pick and choose which employers they're willing to work for (unless you're a software engineer... I often feel bad how good we have it when everyone else is being treated like garbage). What I really want to know is where all the games are going to end up when GameStop closes? Will they have a fire sale at the end? Or will they just put all the games in a big pile and set them on fire and film it and tell everyone "this is for not giving us billions"? They can't really stop people from talking to you entirely. However, many of the things you discuss could potentially be seen as 'trade secrets'... although you do have to do some things for stuff to qualify as trade secrets. They have to take active steps to conceal the information, and stuff like that. I'm not super familiar with the legal standards surrounding it but I know they can't just say that anything they talk about at the corporate level is a trade secret or anything like that. It actually has to be controlled information, like with documents kept in safes, encrypted on computers, things like that. Otherwise it's just 'confidential' and that kind of information doesn't actually have any kind of legal protection outside of basic copyright. I do wonder if anyone watching your videos and making stock trades (like shorting gamestop stock which would probably be profitable) could get in hit water for insider trading... hell, if the execs were doing some insider trading they could probably cite your videos and say the info wasn't truly private as their defense if they get caught. As if they'd ever be caught or prosecuted. Not in America, where we LOVE our white collar criminals.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they have someone message you about “the end is coming” in the hopes that you would have it in a video to and when the end doesn’t come they will get you for slander. I would be careful my man, love you videos! I thought about working for them in the past, SO GLAD I DIDN’T!!!!
I'm just waiting for one of these store managers to "fire" everybody (really just giving them a heads up to alllow them to find another job) and then quit himself/herself as a big F-U to their DMs and GameStop. WHOLE. STORE. EVACUATION. What if that happens as a timed "event" across the country? Swaths of stores losing their staff and the top people having to come in, without training, trying to run the stores. VIVA LA REVOLUTION! LOL
It’s also funny that when I got fired they wouldn’t let me transfer my pre-orders to another store and today I go check my account and my pre-orders have suddenly vanished meaning that around 40 bucks of my money went straight down the drain since Gamestop decided to steal it.
From the UK here, never been to a gamestop but have been watching your vids for months because your vids are just so dam interesting, Keep up informing the people about corporate miss management and intimidation mate
I went to a local GameStop just because of Camelot. I haven’t been in one of these store in a very long time. I saw the only 2 employees talking about how poor their sales have been in front of me without a care in the world. And then they asked if I wanted to preorder the next big game... Yeah, I don’t think so!
This reminds me of when I worked at Guitar Center, and they made all the associates e-sign documents stating that we wouldn't pursue legal action against the company over things like pay/wage/commission disputes, and that we would agree to take any and all disputes through a company-appointed arbitrator. Now, there were definitely cut-throat sales guys there, so maybe it was an issue. idk. But we were essentially told "You don't HAVE to sign this, but it's a condition of your employment". So basically it was "Sign this shit, or there's the door". I remember some dude in one of the Nevada stores talked to the press about it, and there was a huge uproar for a hot minute. It was definitely a sign that corporate was going to continue screwing us. Why I kept working there for years after that still eludes me to this day. Probably the discounted guitar strings. Should have just gone for an endorsement deal when I was touring more.
Guitar center well when it comes to selling your guitars, they'll rip you off!! I tried selling a Schecter guitar that was $600 and they took one look at it and were like "well you see here the color is an odd color and theres a fingerprint on there (that was HIS fingerprint) so we can only give you $20 only if not then there's the door." Then some gorgeous girl was like "Are you in need of a new guitar? Are you sure? Are you really sure? Why aren't you in a band? Sign up for a credit card with us! Please!!" I don't need guitars anymore since I stopped pursing music and I don't have time to be in a band anymore LIFE happened and decided to go back to school and get a high paying job then being in a band nowadays,

If I have to sell gear, you bet your ass the LAST place I'm going to is GC unless I just can't move it otherwise.

When I worked for Software Etc (would become Gamestop) my boss told me, "There are 2 schools of management: management through intimidation or motivation.". He was a motivator. He actually shared one of his bonuses with me. Morale at our store was always high. Gamestop leaders are blaming you but you're just shining a light on their awful leadership style.

If you sign a document under duress without the option to go over what you are signing for with legal counsel, and you already work for the company under a previously agreed contract, the new contract is not legally binding per case law. I can't remember the case exactly but no company can force you to follow new terms without a chance to negotiate.

@@Amadeus_ and how much are they paying you to comment against him?
Not to mention we were the only customers at the time in the store so there wasn’t anyone else there to “cause a major disturbance or falsely and negatively influence.” I Still cant believe this really happened.
that was a epic read
Wow! Your memory is amazing! That's ridiculous though how they treated you.

Not all Gamestop stores do that. If you want to spread lies why don't you go and say you been kidnap by aliens and post it on TH-cam

Exactly lol. Or he probably was using their Wifi if gamestop has it and saw his phone name under the list or something.
Or if he used his real name on any social media they can view what you do
Megan Lindsey yeah true
Megan Lindsey: no one can view which TH-cam videos I’ve watched.
On Black Friday everyone should show up to Gamestop wearing Codystop shirts and just stand in line without buying anything.
there are codystop shirts???
I need an “OH MY GOD” sound-clip as an alert on my phone. 😱👍🏼
I'm making sure everyone I know doesn't shop there for black Friday. Long live Camelot!
Simple solution is DO NOT WATCH YOUR VIDEOS AT WORK ON COMPANY COMPUTERS! Crap people, be smart!
"An IQ above a raisin..."
😂😂😂
All of this is just so that the execs at the top can protect the golden parachutes they'll by going out on when GameStop goes belly up.
From the UK here, never been to a gamestop but have been watching your vids for months because your vids are just so dam interesting, Keep up informing the people about corporate miss management and intimidation mate
I love that there are a mere 74 dislikes. Looks like corporate side is trying to fight there too.
I'm gonna spam their (GameStop) Twitter feed with "FOR CAMELOT"
Oh look he finally started to censor their profile pics.
I went to a local GameStop just because of Camelot. I haven’t been in one of these store in a very long time. I saw the only 2 employees talking about how poor their sales have been in front of me without a care in the world. And then they asked if I wanted to preorder the next big game...
Yeah, I don’t think so!
“Oh ... my ... god”

Subbed and liked. Appreciate that you're just you. No BS personality, no gamesmanship, just honest opinion about your former employer.
Hey man. I’m sorry to hear about your family’s loss.
Please!!" I don't need guitars anymore since I stopped pursing music and I don't have time to be in a band anymore LIFE happened and decided to go back to school and get a high paying job then being in a band nowadays,
@@EmmureMARIO64 Yeah, I hated the trade in process. I knew people weren't getting their money's worth for their gear, and that bothered me. And then you'd have the people that would try to trade in broken shit, and I wanted absolutely none of that. I play in 4 bands and work 2 jobs. If I have to sell gear, you bet your ass the LAST place I'm going to is GC unless I just can't move it otherwise.
Do not believe him
Signed,
Gamestop CEO trollbot 153493
Gym S damn that’s Funny lol
This form that they're made to sign, how is corporate suppose to find out who is giving you info if you blur names and faces? I mean honestly, they will still have no proof who is telling you all of this if you just blur names and faces. Keep up the great work Cam!
Does a corp not even now what privacy means i think for just that monotering his internet that this person it happend to he has to go to the police
That outro voice before the rock music cracks me up everytime
it's kind of weird at these people would give out such information like a he works in roc and is a supervisor. I'm sure there's only a handful supervisors and then they would do their due diligence to do process of elimination to find out who is your source
They are sinking their own boat with predatory consumer tactics and promoting a bully mentality from their district leaders. It all trickles down from the top.
I love watching GS burn. Pass me the marshmallows!
Someone should stand in front of the corporate office with a giant screen TV, showing nothing but your videos. That way, they have to fire themselves as they walk through the door for watching your content.
Hey that's a good ideal
Wow I am early. Can’t miss any of this saga
These people should sue the crap out of Gamestop, this is borderline illegal.
Fire sale for gamestop after christmas, spend your points now.
Wait, what?
?
Who still has points there?
Lol yeah nah buddy
Hahaha how much they pay you intern. Hahahaha. Your TH-cam playlist sucks. Plus you're not on social blade.
Being a retail associate I cannot I repeat cannot stand shady practices... I worked at Walmart and dealt with shady practices damn near daily mostly from the store manager... where is he? 2 positions up now and still a huge piece of shit apparently... I love my customers and love the store I’m at now.. being a retail associate your videos are entertaining to me and your speaking out for those that can’t and I love it! Camelot I’ve become a fan and I want to say thank you! Please continue to speak out.. there only so much they can do to stop you
#FuckGamestop
How many employees watch this while working at gamestop lol.
1, maybe 2. His reach is seriously overestimated.
^ found the corporate guy.
@@charles616 Oddly specific numbers, source?
@@charles616 I'm pretty sure the vid just established you're getting paid for this shit. What source is providing you with the numbers? Because I talked with people in my gamestop here in the Midwest and they certainly knew who Camelot was and had an opinion on him. Quit accepting money for this shit dude
Charles may or may not have been “getting paid” but hes right about the overestimation. Since ive been following this funny ass story ive literally visited over a half dozen gamestops in the philadelphia area and not a single employee had a fucking clue what i was talking about..
