Every now and again I bring this up in situations where it needs to be quiet or not so loud just did it to my kids which brought me here to show this to them
I remember this cartoon growing up- the dog running up the hill to avoid making noise in the house is hilarious! And the little troublemaker gets his just desserts in the end.

This is one of my favorite Tex Avery cartoons! What I like about it is the amount of effort the artists put into it. The bears house looks like it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. They put a lot of attention to detail in even in minor stuff like the furniture and even the glasses that Droopy drops onto Spike.
I grew up watching this and it is still funny. Some people think the old cartoons are too violent. We never took a bat or anvil to anyone. Our minds didn't run like that. It is a cartoon. A different time for sure.

Avery did a few of these "QUIET!!!" cartoons with the same theme-a character or characters is forced to run outside a building and a long ways away whenever they need to make some kind of noise-loud or soft-in order to keep the very bad-temperedsleeping antagonist from waking up-always with hilarious results! And being the genius that he was Avery always found a way to turn an old gag into a fresh, new and even funnier gag!
I remember one with Daffy and Elmer Fudd as the front desk at a hotel, and some huge guy trying to get to sleep. Fuddsy got blasted at the end of every gag.
1950Grendel yep , btw, many of my favorite looney toons cartoons had both daffy and bugs bunny with another main character like elmer fudd, or Yosemite Sam. lol. always loved the abominable snowman ones too, reminds me of a smothering aunt, lol.
Yeah, Avery later had Deputy Droopy. Also Royal Cat Nap (1958) with Tom and Jerry had a few scenes like this. I read Hanna/Barbera may have been influenced by Avery at MGM.
In Tom & Jerry Tales, couple years back, in a episode, I saw the bear sleeping in a cave, I gasp, 'Tom don't wake the bear,' it was funny, because the bear spoke the same lines. Lol. The joy of seeing a familiar character in a new style cartoon.
I love love love this cartoon,and i’am going on 55yrs old and still love it as it I was still a little kid.My wife snore so so bad and she wakes me up out of my sleep almost every other night and this Cartoon puts me in the mind set of what I exactly wanna say to her when she wake me up out of a deep sleep with her loud snoring lol
