When I started playing this game, I did everything you could imagine wrong, yes, even leaving the cockpit unoccupied. This of course saw my pane nosedive into the water. But as I played more and more and began to understand the controls and mechanics, I could respond to emergencies faster, bomb targets with pinpoint accuracy, juggle bombing runs with fighting enemy planes, and remember to use crew abilities. This is a fun game, but some learning is required.
Pezmed I have to say I agree buddy. I don't usually care but for this game specifically it just seemed easier to point and click and it felt quicker to me anyways.
Picked it up for 3.99. I’m on an absolute tear picking games up on sale. May never play it, but it’ll be there waiting for me if I feel like being a bomber squad hero. Thanks for the review
@@SwitchWatch I grabbed it. I put the DLC bundle in my wishlist to see if it drops under $9.99. They've got some weird pricing go on now. It is more expensive to buy the game bundled with the DLC than it is to buy them separately.
I got the game before watching your review. I am liking it a lot but I am glad it wasn't just me who thought the controls were a little tough. Great review! I love the channel.
I friggin' love this game and it's perfect for the Switch as I love having good games to play when undocked on the go. It does have some serious and sudden difficulty spikes, but learning good techniques like avoiding radar and flak sites have really improved my survival rate. They must have fixed the crew selection glitch. Also if you really want to, you can actually avoid the perma-death thing by quitting the mission before you fail to the main screen. Re-load the game and you will be back to the airfield before you launched the mission. I've done it a few times, but at the same time it removes consequence from the game, and thus removes the sense of risk and tension. So it's up to you. As you learn the game more and more you learn from your mistakes, and when you install upgrades like parachutes, dinghy's etc, you can increase crew survival when/if you crash land. This game has a perfect blend of simplicity, but also depth such as strategies in cross training your crew, custom waypoints to avoid hazards etc. One thing that is really frustrating, even though I know it's realistic, is the inability of your navigator to navigate above low altitude. Usually mid altitude is the worst as there is almost always cloud cover, preventing navigation. Sure sometimes you get a night mission, and your navigator (if skilled enough) can do star navigation, but it's few and far between. This creates scenarios where you are forced to fly through hazards to bomb your target, while being shredded by flak and fighters. Minor gripes to an otherwise great game. I can't wait for USAAF to drop on Switch.

I agree with you there buddy. It's not the sexiest genre but it's something I like to pass the time too. I am just pretty poor at multitasking. However, for me, it makes an even better test. Need to check out the potato game.

Ik im late but i bought this game today on the switch when it was on sale for $1.49 i think and the controls made it so complicated that it makes the game look like only for pc but got the hang of it and im having so much fun for it
Have been playing this game for a couple of months actually on my switch mostly and mostly on hand held mode .. i tried it on pc and yes the point a click makes it easier to select crew and tell them what to do.. specially when theirs alot of things going on .. that said on the switch version time will sorta go slower while you press the button to select and give out commands down .. so this help alot and makes its more manageable.. great game the dlc is actually harder were you play with an american bomber who has double the crew .. double the problems and i find the missions les forgiving.. great game

On sale on the eShop for $2.24 right now! Picking this one up as it does sound difficult, frustrating and chaotic. Just my kind of game. 😁 Also, does this game uses motion controls? The Switch is capable of that and the joycons can be used as a pointer just like a Wiimote. That will help tremendously for speed multitasking.
Awesome game, a bit repetitive once you find a good strategy, specially with a geared up crew to high altitudes. But even then, it provides some challenge specially when ready for the final mission, but there is no other way of saying it other than the game is addictive as hell and you really do begin to care about your dudes. PS - I thought the 'selection' going wild was a problem with my controller, good to know that at least it wasnt.
I definitely gotta play this! I got eshop credits just burning a hole in my virtual wallet. And I need to show this to my brother. He loves flying games and would get a kick out of this.

I’ve played this on switch it sucks bad too much manual things to do not enough automatic it’s a huge pain with a crappy button setup so much do do more of a headache then fun I see what they where going for the game had potential but poorly executed

I friggin' love this game and it's perfect for the Switch as I love having good games to play when undocked on the go.
