I clearly understand why Mario talked about you on radio interview, you are top of heck drummer thank you for sharing your expérience, you give me a lot to work during this endless quarantine keep safe. Cheers from France.
The world needs more educators like you. Not to mention drummers 💥 What is that sweet hi hat? Sounds amazing as always bro Thank you for your time and inspiration, here and on instagram lives.
Nice! Cool lick, works great as a groove or fill. And your process for applying it in different ways is an example of how to work through any idea. Great sounding drums. Excellent, well-controlled and in-the-pocket playing.
Excellent great lesson and instruction with perfect illustration Thank you Carl Wheeeeee we go It will definitely improve my life of hitting these things
@@JuanCarlitoMendoza I do mean it, I follow your stuff for a pretty long time now and it has inspired me to get into some grooves that aren't prog metal wich is where I come from. Although that is saying a lot lets say more like generic metal drumming with a few pretentous twists to not oversell my ability. Getting into jazz or Latino or Funk drumming is really hard if your brain is locked into straight 16th patterns and even if you are used to counting odd time signatures, with a few modern exceptions metal rythms tend to hammer on in 5/8. There are triplets but that is generally it. Again modern prog excluded, artists now tend to get more experimental. When I "discovered" jazz the first thing I noticed about modern jazz drumming is the way they use tuplets. 5 Tuplets and even 9tuplets are soo heaviely in use and it really really stretches my brain. I can't feel it so I am forced to "pilot" my way through it and it sounds awful for it. 6 Tuplets for sure have a different flow to them, I can feel those and it grooves. Thanks for that.
Eres una maquina de hacer musica JCM, te sigo hace apenas un par de meses, no te imaginas lo que he aprendido gracias a ti. No hablo ingles pero intento entenderte . Saludos y gracias por tus videos.
As always, sooo satisfying to listen to your smooth, precise drumming 🤗 I've always had the problem of getting diffrent stickings into my muscle memory. As soon as I moove or hear another sound, the sticking is gone. When it comes to rudimental stuff, consistency and dynamics, I'm still a train wreck after 33 years of drumming.
Just take it SLOW and play each beat and don't move on until you can play each sticking at least 30 times straight. That's the only way you can get the muscle memory. Hope that helps!
Awesome groove! If I had to come up with my own variation, I'd play fewer notes in the fourth bar the first time I play it, and keep your orchestration the second time around.
how long do you have to sit in front your drums to come up with something like this? i mean, thats totaly off, in a good way! /edit: i know nothing about notation, could i work with your book anyways?
Not too long actually! Played the idea, recorded it on my phone and then I started to build off of the main idea. My book comes with audio files. So you can listen and follow along with the sheet music.
@@JuanCarlitoMendoza some time ago i watched your lesson at drumeo and i liked it a lot. i think your book is good for beginner as well. because of shipping, i'm from germany, i would rather pick the pdf, so no audio...you should mention that cd at the selling page, i mean...it's a feature, isn't it?! ;)
