tbh i think demon scythe is the most effective weapon against WoF since shooting it at the direction you are running at makes it so that the projectiles hit the boss multiple times

the cursed flame tome weapon is really good and underrated, and it's even good at fighting plantera, I'd strongly recommend getting that, it's really easy to make and obviously the golden shower when you get ichor
My desert got hollowed when my world became Hardmode but the best thing is that when I was farming for crystal serpent I got 3 of them also I got 3 light shards
i used the aqua scepter (found in dungeon chests) flower of fire (shadow chests) and the flamelash (shadow chests) to fight the WOF and it worked really well
If the player doesn't want to deal with the extra pockets of evil biome that spawn from the altars, then I suggest fishing a lot beforehand, completing quests and so, and have potions ready for hardmode to fish for hardmode crates instead of breaking altars

When I started, i used beenades to farm underground hallow enemies for souls of light. I got some crystal shards, and somehow while getting souls, my friend found the wizard. I bought the spell tome, and made Crystal Storm. It is a very good, rapid fire weapon.
Great video! I love all the insight you provide. Some other viable Mage weapons that I like at this stage of the game are the cursed flame and spirit flame.
As for the other magic weapons.... Content is content, and getting to see the weapons in action will let people decide more thoroughly than a brief description of pros and cons.

You can also get the magic dagger from golden mimics and it is pretty good at the very start of hardmode I used it to get the golden shower, the metor staff etc..

If you don't want to use precious obsidian on a potion, try to drain lava around some hellstone through a building. Then make a wall so that the hellstone's lava won't overflow before you realize and trap you
In classic mode the crystal serpent took me to lunatic cultists, all 3 mechanical bosses, planters and golem with it All I needed to do was farm the queen slime armor with it as soon as I got it, it's pretty good
