F15 BMW X5 Running Boards Removal: A Step-by-Step Guide

Thanks for sharing! Two things... 1) Looking to remove the metal piece and have it color matched to my rims. Do you know if that piece comes off without issue or not? And do those rubber dot grips come off with it?
2) what do your new steps and skirt look like?

Not sure. I don't remember how the metal part was attached. but I would doubt that the rubber parts come off at all.

They are very narrow and getting dangerous for my mother.

I never did. I learned from someone who added the side skirts that it covers a lot of the aftermarket running boards I replaced them with. I did this as a safety measure for my 73 year old mother so I left them off. It doesn't look great but she's not going to kill herself now.
