    Wish I’d seen this video before I got my Pepe. I threw away the Key thing.;). luckily Toni, at Pepe is amazing and sent me one, actually two and even an extra hex wrench :). I need to play a little more. Not getting super deep impressions. I need to invest in some dies Can’t wait to see you video of you using this baby!!

      oh no! Such a small yet super important part! Glad you were able to get a new one :) Yes, I totally agree that everyone at Pepe is so sweet and helpful! I've dealt with David and he's so kind and helpful :)) You definitely need to experiment more with the patterns. I've tried dried leaves (skeletons) and they left a very nice and pretty deep pattern (you'll see in the video). And I didn't even close the rollers too much, was able to roll quite easily. I've used silver, it's definitely easier to get a pattern with softer metals - the brass sheet that served as a sandwich on top didn't get much pattern from this. ❤️

    In an email I got from Pepe they called you that _European TH-cam Sensation!_ Made me feel dead clever for already following and hope it results in a bump in your subscriptions. Clearly you deserve at least 400k by this time.

      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      wow, I'm beyond happy to hear that!! You absolutely made my day, thank you Patrick! I hope Pepe won't mind you telling me this! 😀 I would absolutely love to have 400k, but I also think it's not just the number that matters. It will sound cliche, but I really think it's the people I've met here, and opportunities that came my way because of the channel (like Pepetools!) 😍😀 Thank so much for sticking around! xx

    Hi, Barbara! Congrats on your new instrument! I guess you're not going to shape thick cuban chains or something like this with it, but what maximum thickness capacity does it have?
    And one more thing, if you going to roll pieces of silver you should get it first. Does it mean that your next supplies will be crucibles, casting forms and a new torch for metal melting?

    • @TheArtOfMetalsmithing
      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly not yet for the torch... I wish I could get a proper torch already, but still living in the same place and can't go with it yet.Counting the days when I'll finally be able to get a normal one! :)) As for this rolling mill, its maximum opening is 5mm. Not a lot but perfectly enough for me :)

    • @user-pd7cq666
      @user-pd7cq666 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Basia, can't you use it due to problems related to a gas cylinder? So, there are some torches on the market that intended for brazing but suitable for silver melting using gas canister, not cylinder. The prices start from £25 (for hoseless torches) and from £30 (for torches with hose). My advice is the last one. I only see one problem, it's the high cost of propane and MAPP gas canisters in the UK. I really can't understand why it's couple times more than near me! Although one canister (460 g) is enough for 10-15 meltings, in my opinion £13-18 per CGA600 canister is too expensive. Of cource, it's possible to use an adaptor from CGA600 to cheaper EN 417 cartriges, but you should use for melting only those which are not based on butane, and cheapiest of that kind - the MSR IsoPro cost £9.69 - I don't know if it's worth the adapter costs (£8) for such small money-saving.

      This is our middle sized mill, we have the 160MM size with larger squares which are very popular for cuban link chains. Please contact us anytime for more info at pepetools.com

      they are the manufacturers of these mills and soon they will be available in more places :) I've seen many makers that I follow on Instagram go for their products, so I have a strong feeling this will be a lasting, quality tool :) Imagine all these patterns that you can do with it, I'll show you some in the next video. Hahaha, yup, these shoes definitely wouldn't do much if the actual tool fell on my foot 😃 but It felt better to have them on to avoid scrathes etc hahah 😃
