Testing for Arsenic

Kelly R. Thompson, MWS, CI gives a little background information about arsenic before demonstrating how to do an arsenic test. He also gives tips for the water treatment professional on how to explain the test to a customer in a credible but competent manner.

Thanks for the video. It helps explain a lot. One thing...the kit instructions say to discard the finished test in a drain not used for food preparation.

Good comment. I might have missed that. I always poured it in the center of the drain to make sure it didn't splash, but I guess it'd be better to put it in a utility sink or toilet.

Very informative, need to do some testing on my house because the area is known for having very high amounts in the water, in my local area

I foind it weird to not have to dip the strip in the water. Would that not result in a more accurate test?
Anyway, i didnt do that as you instructed and my result was lookikg like no arsenic. Woohoo! 😅

I just bought a box kit with 5 tests off Amazon, same as you show, and the Zinc packets contained ZERO Zinc, just air pillows. I contacted company and they are sending me replacement items. I had a State certified lab test first, 33.9ppb from my well. Need to test my pool and Spa. Hopefully the replacements work.
